Description
A private driveway leads to an automatic gated entrance, a parking area, a double garage with an EV charging point and the front porch. This opens into the large reception hall with an oak staircase, storage facilities and oak panelled doors including one to the triple aspect sitting room with wonderful views and a stunning inglenook fireplace. The lovely circular dining room has windows all round also providing excellent views.
The contemporary kitchen/breakfast room has plenty of space for a table and chairs and features shaker style units housing various appliances while the adjacent fitted utility room has space for laundry facilities. Beyond the utility room is a stunning garden room/conservatory with vast windows on three sides, offering a magnificent panoramic vista, French doors to the terrace and a door to the garage and parking area.
Upstairs the beamed corridor has access to the primary loft and higher loft areas and includes a storage cupboard and a door to the family bathroom. The four double bedrooms have far reaching countryside views including a circular room and the dual aspect principal with an impressive, beamed mansard ceiling, built in cupboards and access to a second bathroom.
Surrounding the spacious paved terrace is the gym/games room and an outdoor bar that includes a kitchen with built in appliances. There is an additional garage and a timber store, an ornamental pond and large lawns interspersed with trees and shrubs. A second drive leads to the ‘top' pasture with a natural pond and is where the two buildings that could be converted are situated. While closer to the oast are the old stables and a five-acre paddock.
What the Owner says:
We moved here about three years ago as we loved the location. We thought it would be our ‘forever' home, so we refurbished and extended it accordingly, including purchasing additional land, but unfortunately circumstances have meant we are not able to stay here. While we focused on the house, garden and outdoor leisure facilities new owners have the opportunity to renovate the stables and convert the outbuildings.
Although the property is in the countryside, Staplehurst is not far with its convenience store, garden centre, pubs and restaurants, primary school, sports clubs and Sissinghurst Gardens. Nearby Marden features a Michelin recommended restaurant, a gastropub, a primary and secondary school and various sports clubs.
Both villages have mainline stations with trains to London Bridge taking less than an hour and excellent additional education facilities are available in the nearby towns including first class grammar and private schools.
