The main part of the manor house dates back to the late 14th and early 15th centuries, although it is thought that the origins of a dwelling in this location go back to Roman times. An extension with a new facade was constructed in the Renaissance period and is now further enhanced with a stunning wisteria. This is a site where battles have been planned over the centuries, from well before the French Revolution through until WW2, where it became an important part of the local Resistance. It is even thought that Prince Henri stayed in the house before he became King Henri IV. Nowadays, the property is much more peaceful, set in a countryside location just outside a lively village around 30 kilometres from Bergerac with its international airport.



Renovations in the manor house are well underway, with double/triple glazed windows and underfloor heating keeping running costs low. The renovations have been undertaken with great care to maintain original features, including numerous fireplaces dating from medieval times through to Louis XVI. The ground floor has a double height kitchen with Godin cooker and stone sinks. The gallery is being used as a sunny dining room, overlooking the terrace that used to be a courtyard in the past. The company

Beaux Villages Immobilier was founded at the start of the financial crisis in early 2008 by Lynn Longley. These beginnings, in Monségur, (Gironde) were soon followed by offices in Verteillac and Lalinde (Dordogne). Now we are also well established with teams of property professionals working across the whole of southern France.

Since these early beginnings the team has grown to include several nationalities speaking a dozen languages and incorporating different cultures. Our common denominator is a love of the area that we have chosen to live and work in, and a desire to share that.

Now, post Brexit, we expect to open more offices and cover more areas.
