Description
Half a mile from the main York to Harrogate road, down a narrow tarmac lane, past a farm, and there's only one house to be found. Whixley Gatehouse sits slightly above the road and nearby railway crossing, tall hedges provide a sense of privacy and calm.
The house and gardens are need of some attention, but this has been a practical family home for many years, and is not thought to require too much major work to bring it back to its best. There's plenty of scope to expand too, with lots of space to the side and rear of the plot for additional rooms, or a garage perhaps.
Access to the house is fairly level, two small steps and you are in a wide entrance hall, with the living room straight ahead of you and the kitchen to your left.
The kitchen has long runs of worktop and a range of fitted units, with plenty of space for dining too. A door leads out to the south-westerly section of garden, which gets the best of the afternoon sun.
The living room is a really good family-sized space, with lovely views over the garden and through the trees to the fields beyond.
Down the hallway are three bedrooms, two of which have built-in storage, and a house shower room.
Outside, and there are gardens to both sides and across the rear of the property, with uninterrrupted views over the fields towards the village of Hopperton. There are several areas that look ideal for vegetable and fruit patches, and still more space for a family garden. With a little work this could return to being an amazing place to enjoy the countryside surroundings.
At the front is a storage shed and a driveway and parking area large enough for several vehicles
Whixley Gatehouse could be a very special family home, home-away-from-home, or even a holiday let investment, Will you be one of the first to view? Call Silverspring today, we look forward to hearing from you and telling you all about Whixley Gatehouse.
