Description

BRICKWORKS SAYS

Once a Victorian schoolhouse, this two-bedroom apartment has all the echoes of the industrious and faintly rebellious spirit that once thrived here. Quietly set on the top floor, it enjoys the proportions of its former life; think strikingly high ceilings, vast sash windows that pour light across the hardwood floors, original cornicing, and architectural detailing intact.

A fireplace anchors the living room, exposed brick adds texture to complement the cool, clean white elsewhere, and the kitchen sits cleverly beneath the mezzanine — neatly zoning it without interrupting the flow. Above, the mezzanine is yours to define: guest bedroom, home office, yoga spot, or artist’s studio. Even the communal areas have presence — poured-concrete floors and playful colour accents that let you reimagine your school days with considerably better taste.

Set in a lively Peckham postcode, you’re within easy walking distance of Nunhead and New Cross too. Plus, Queens Road Peckham station is a five-minute amble away, with convenient connections. Your new locals: Skehans for a pint, Forza Wine for supper, and a spin at D4100 when you want to be up late. They’re all close at hand.

THE OWNERS SAY

Assembly Apartments was my home for 12 years, and I loved every day of it. It's a unique and versatile space that can be enjoyed in many different ways; dinner parties (that often turned into dance parties), film nights with projections onto the huge wall in the living room, or simply somewhere to read and relax or gaze across the London skyline.

Located on the building's top floor, it's an oasis of tranquility and calm, yet you're a hop and a skip from everything that Peckham, Nunhead and New Cross have to offer. Assembly Apartments has a great community of residents who look out for each other.
