Young couples, stay away!

They allowed us all to move in without ensuring that the place was habitable. We’ve been without hot water for weeks, management have been nothing but rude and unhelpful and absolutely patronizing and threatening us when we have voiced our concerns. It’s a truly terrible situation we all find ourselves in with no way out of our contracts. It look stunning from the outside but it’s a black hole of problems on the inside. This is mine and my partners first place together and we were so excited to move in together and have only felt stress and anxiety since moving in as there have been so many issues. What strikes me the most is simply how rude the management is and how threatening and patronizing their approach to our problems have been with absolutely no intent of supporting us.

Expensive and real hot water issues so beware of that

The workbench and gym are nice. But its incred expensive for what it is. Parking is expensive 150 a month. Council tax seems to be band C so 300 a month. Everything is decent enough apart from the fact the hot water has been off and on since August. Shower pressure is also weak. What they've offered as remedy is quite low given months of on and off no water/ cold water days. They host nice events every so often so they're not all bad.

Trapped

We have had no decent supply of hot water since September. They have installed outside showers for us to use in the freezing cold. When reaching out for help they reply “whatever we try and do will not work in our favour”. We have tried to ask for the property insurance to see if there is cover due to the hot water not working (it’s in our tenancy agreement that we have the right to view it on request) but they refused to send us the policy documents even though this is a legal requirement.

1-bedroom couple

The staff at signal box yard made it very easy to move in. It was a very quick and simple process and they were very friendly. However, throughout my tenancy so far, everyone in the building have experienced ongoing hot water outages due to a faulty centralised hot water system. There have been reports of internet connectivity and bandwidth problems. Although, when the internet is working, it operates at the advertised speeds. A pet peeve of mine has been faulty motion sensors in some hallways and the bike storage, this issue comes and goes but it frustrates me immensely. Management have a preference against bringing guests in the common areas and gym, which makes me uncomfortable because I have friends and family, I want them to keep me company in enjoying the facilities.

Living at Signal Box Yard has been such a great experience as a Uni of Bath student. The design of the building is modern, stylish and really well thought out, with bright apartments and great communal spaces. The facilities are excellent — everything feels new and well maintained, and it’s a really safe and comfortable place to live. The property and building management team are amazing too — Alexandra and Natalie are always super friendly, helpful and quick to sort out any issues or questions. They really make the place feel welcoming and well run. Overall, Signal Box Yard is a brilliant development with a great community vibe and perfect location near the river and city centre.
