Description

A modern and extensively improved four-bedroom house overlooking the Woodchester Valley, with mature gardens, a triple garage and annexe potential.

Description

In a rural setting between the thriving market town of Nailsworth and Amberley village, Sunbury Holt is a striking country home which has been extensively updated since 2018 to create a modern and stylish residence with plenty of space for family life. The house has been designed with tall windows on the west-facing elevations in order to best appreciate the views across the valley towards Nailsworth. The internal specification is very high, with a contemporary design incorporating natural materials like stone, marble and wood with a rich colour palette, attractive wall coverings and a slick finish. The kitchen and bathrooms are of particular note – all beautifully presented, while premium features include underfloor heating throughout the kitchen and reception hall, oak-framed windows and a wealth of storage.

The layout is ideal for family life and is fantastically spacious, leading off an inviting reception hall to a spacious triple aspect sitting room, an open plan kitchen/dining/family room with adjoining utility room and walk-in larder, and a cloakroom with WC. The first-floor accommodation is well proportioned with all of the bedrooms enjoying good natural light and lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The principal bedroom is an excellent size and includes a walk-in wardrobe and en suite shower room, with a Juliet balcony at the front maximising the views. There is a further en suite bedroom well suited to visiting guests or older children, two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath and shower.

On the first floor of the garage there is a spacious studio room and shower room which has excellent annexe potential (subject to permissions) or would work equally well as guest accommodation, a comfortable home office or children’s playroom.

Outside
Sunbury Holt enjoys an elevated position with far-reaching views across the valley towards Nailsworth, enjoying a fabulous green aspect. The property is accessed via a shared entrance which leads to a private gated driveway to the front of the property, where there is ample parking for a number of cars in front of the detached triple garage. The beautifully landscaped gardens to the front and rear are well established with mature shrubs and trees and are arranged over a number of levels built into the contours of the hill behind. An expansive terrace runs along the front of the house, affording stunning views, and wraps around the south side of the house where there is a secluded paved patio well suited to outside entertaining in the warmer months. The rear garden is enclosed by a traditional drystone wall backed by mature trees, creating a fantastically private feel while still enjoying lovely views. A feature bridge links the lawn to the first floor landing.
