Description

A beautifully presented five bedroom semi detached converted Oast barn originally dating back to the 1850s and thoughtfully converted in the 1990s, offering an exceptional blend of historic character and refined farmhouse living.

This impressive home oozes charm and character throughout with exposed wooden beams, generous proportions and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Finished to a high standard with a turnkey farmhouse style, the property seamlessly combines period features with modern comfort.

The ground floor accommodation is both versatile and well balanced, comprising a spacious lounge centred around a fire box log burner creating a cosy focal point perfect for the colder months. A large entertaining kitchen forms the heart of the home complete with a central island and generous dining space making it ideal for family gatherings and social occasions. The layout flows beautifully offering practical family living space alongside areas perfectly suited to entertaining and further benefits from a convenient ground floor WC.

Arranged over the upper levels, the property offers five well proportioned bedrooms including an impressive principal bedroom with en suite facilities. The fifth bedroom positioned at the top of the house is currently used as a flexible space and could easily serve as a guest room, hobby room or additional living area depending on a buyer’s needs. The generous landing area has also been thoughtfully arranged as an additional study and living space creating a versatile and practical environment ideal for modern family life. A separate study is also located on this level providing a quiet and private space for those working from home.

Externally, the property continues to impress. A double garage with additional workshop space offers excellent storage or hobby potential complemented by off road parking for multiple vehicles. The mature garden is a particular feature with established planting and fruit trees creating a peaceful and private outdoor setting. A substantial European Oak veranda provides the perfect space for outdoor dining and entertaining while enjoying views of the garden.

Situated within a sought after rural village location, the home enjoys a tranquil setting whilst still offering excellent convenience. There is easy access out of Thanet for commuters and the property is well positioned for highly regarded local schools.

A rare opportunity to acquire a characterful and substantial home in a charming village setting offering space, history and lifestyle in equal measure.

Location Summary
Ramsgate is situated on the southerly aspect of the Isle of Thanet and benefits the country’s only Royal Harbour, its status being granted by King George IV in 1821. The distinctive and beautiful harbour has a vibrant yachting community alongside some commercial activity and was where the Little Ships evacuation of Dunkirk set out from in 1940. The town is enjoying something of a Renaissance with its large amount of Grade II Listed property, many set within elegant Regency squares, or overlooking the sea, others with links to or influenced by the architect Augustus Pugin. In recent years the Royal Harbour has seen many restaurants, cafes and bars emerge alongside quirky independent retail outlets, some utilising the arches on the quayside beneath Royal Parade. The town is steeped in history with associations to many well known figures including Queen Victoria , Karl Marx and Vincent Van Gogh as well as having a fascinating network of tunnels beneath the main centre. The fortunes of the town have been hugely assisted by the recent addition of a high speed rail link to London St Pancras making a commute for many a viable option.
