Description

Whether you are looking for a permanent home or an excellent holiday retreat this charming detached residence in a small and prestigious cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Hythe could be the answer. It offers easy access to Saltwood village, Hythe town centre and the seafront and has been expertly refurbished and extended with high end fixtures and fittings including oak doors, shutters on all the windows and excellent semi open plan living.

A driveway provides off road parking for two vehicles and is bordered by a lawn and shrub borders. It leads to the oak front door that opens into an entrance hall with oak flooring that flows through much of the ground floor accommodation, a cloakroom and glazed doors into the sitting room. This has a raised log burner with a marble hearth and log store plus oak bi-fold doors to the L-shaped open plan living space.

This features a bright dining area with four bi-fold doors to the rear terrace and a wide archway to the family area that also has four bi-fold doors to the terrace. The contemporary kitchen features charcoal grey units with Corian worktops housing a variety of built in appliances and a peninsular breakfast bar. The utility room was the original kitchen and, as well as laundry appliances, it also still has a built in oven and hob. Beyond the dining area is a study leading to a large studio converted from the garage.

Upstairs the galleried landing has access to the loft and an airing cupboard. There is a family bathroom, a large single bedroom with a fitted cupboard and three doubles. These include one with Velux windows, access to eaves storage and a Jack and Jill shower room that also serves another double with sliding wardrobes. The first bedroom features a trapezoid window and French doors onto a Juliette balcony, a walk-in wardrobe, storage cupboards and an ensuite shower.

The rear garden includes the large terrace, a lawn, shrub borders, a charming Wendy house and a garden shed.

What the Owner says:

I was delighted to create the studio and I particularly liked the open plan areas with the bi-fold doors and the house being located in a small cul-de-sac means it is very quiet and safe for children and pets.
Hythe is a charming town with individual shops, pubs and restaurants as well as Waitrose and a variety of sports clubs including golf courses. You can walk along the Military Canal and it is not far to the beach. While Saltwood features a Michelin starred restaurant, a castle, primary school, a specialist arts secondary school and a park.
Sandling station is close by and you can get the fast train to London from Folkestone West or Ashford International and it is not far to the Channel Tunnel. You will find additional good local primary schools in Hythe and grammar schools in Folkestone with private schools available in Ashford, Canterbury and Dover.
