Overview
This 200-year-old farmhouse was fully renovated in 2019 and is located on the eastern slopes of the Serra de Sicó, near the village of Alvorge in Central Portugal. It retains original stone walls, exposed beams, and vaulted ceilings while featuring modern infrastructure, solar hot water, and central heating powered by two wood-burning stoves. With a registered AL license, sleeping capacity for up to ten guests across five bedrooms, two independent kitchens, and a private guest suite, the property is ready to operate as a rental from the start or serve as a spacious family home full of character.

The Property
Facing the main house, three ground-level entrances welcome you. On the far right is the Gormley Suite, a self-contained private accommodation. The central door opens into a connecting double bedroom. The far left entrance leads into the main house. Adjacent to the main entrance is the microbrewery, and beyond it, the art studio with kiln—both available by separate negotiation.

Gormley Suite
With a private entry on the far right, this suite features its own kitchen and dining area with a vaulted ceiling and granite countertops, a bathroom, and access to a covered walled patio with a bar. Upstairs, the master bedroom includes a private en-suite bathroom and a separate lounge, creating a genuinely self-contained retreat away from the main house.

Connecting Bedroom
The central entrance leads to a double bedroom connecting the two sides of the house. A lockable door provides complete privacy for the suite when the owners are in residence, or allows the entire property to function as a single rental for larger groups.

Main House
The far left entrance leads down a hallway with a full bathroom into the main living room, showcasing original stone walls, wooden beams, and a wood-burning stove for central heating. From the living room, doors open directly onto the back patio and garden. The second fully equipped kitchen and dining area adjoins the living room, mirroring the style and quality of the suite’s kitchen. Upstairs, three additional bedrooms, the rest of the bathrooms, and the laundry cupboard with the solar hot water system can be found.

Outside
The walled patio from the Gormley Suite offers a covered bar and entertainment area, private and sheltered. The 690 m² (7,427 ft²) rear garden is fully enclosed and landscaped, with a separate patio accessed from the main living room. On-site parking is available for six or more vehicles.

Location
Alvorge is situated within the Serra de Sicó, a protected limestone landscape featuring caves, gorges, and river valleys. Local cafés, restaurants, and a mini-market are just minutes away. Ansão is 20 minutes away, with Coimbra only 25 minutes by car. The Aldeias do Xisto schist villages, Silver Coast beaches, and Mata Nacional do Buçaco are all within an hour’s drive. Lisbon and Porto airports can be reached in 1.5 to 2 hours by car.
