"The house has worked wonderfully for us over the years, both as a family home and as a place to work. It has always felt easy to balance family life with working from home here.
The conservatory has been one of our favourite places. The coloured windows, with their delicate foliage and bird motifs, are beautiful when the light passes through them, casting soft patterns and gentle colours across the room. It is a space that changes throughout the day and across the seasons, and one where it has always felt easy to sit quietly with a book or a cup of tea while looking out onto the garden.
There are also lots of small details throughout the house that have become very special to us over the years. One of them is the short wooden staircase between the hallway and the kitchen. It is such a simple feature, but every time we see it, we think about how many footsteps it must have carried over the decades. It gives the house a real sense of memory and continuity that we love. It is a home that has clearly been lived in and cared for by many people before us, and you feel that history around you every day.
But one of the things we will miss the most is the area, starting with the community on this street. Mount View Road has a wonderful neighbourly spirit and people genuinely know one another. The transport connections have also always been a major bonus for us, making it remarkably easy to get across London whenever needed.
