Description
Collier's House I is also currently for sale with The Modern House.
The Tour
Collier’s House is set back from the street, in a quiet, peaceful spot. There is off-road parking in front of the house, with a space allocated to this home. The apartment has its own front door on the ground floor, which opens onto a generous entrance hall. A lift and/or stairs provide access to the first floor.
The majority of the upper floor is occupied by an air-conditioned open-plan living space, with a beautiful, fully integrated kitchen on one side. Elegantly finished, it has oak veneer cabinetry, quartz countertops and a matching splashback. Appliances include a double oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
The remainder of the room is flexible, with space for dining and sitting areas. Oak floorboards laid in a herringbone pattern ground underfoot. Next to the living space is a well-equipped utility room with a separate washer and dryer.
There are four immaculate bedrooms, two of which are en suite. The principal is a wonderfully finished room with air conditioning, an en suite dressing space and a large walk-in shower. A separate bathroom has a soothing neutral scheme and brushed brass fixtures. The second largest bedroom can easily be reconfigured as an office space with a vast Crittall-style window framing views of the street beyond.
Outdoor Space
Doors open from the living space to a balcony, delineated with Crittall-style partitions that draw an exceptional quality of natural light deep into the plans. A staircase ascends to the rooftop, where a large terrace receives a day-long light and has space for hosting and growing in potted plants. An intergrated bench provides plenty of seating and further storage.
The Area
The Tring Triangle conservation area is one of the oldest in the country. It has a wealth of listed buildings, and is surrounded by the near-endless greenery of the Chilterns National Landscape. There are plenty of walking routes nearby, along with Wendover Woods, historic Tring Park and wonderful National Trust sites like the Ashridge Estate.
Tring has cosy local pubs, including the atmospheric King’s Arms and The Black Horse, while Craftyard is a wonderful taproom and bar. Restaurant Crockers is great for special occasions and Barracuda is a well-loved local Italian spot. There are also several large supermarkets in the town, including an M&S.
Aldbury and Berkhamstead are both close. There are also excellent schools locally, including Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.
Tring station is a short cycle or drive away. It runs direct services to London Euston in approximately 40 minutes, to Milton Keynes in around 35, and to Birmingham New Street in around an hour and a half. Wendover station is a short drive away and runs services to London Marylebone.
