Description

Ambion Court Hotel is a seven guest bedroom Country Hotel in the village of Daddington in Leicestershire. The property is very well known locally and offers huge potential to continue as a hotel, or fully convert into private residential accommodation. Ambion Court was converted 40 years ago from an early 19th century Farm and overlooks the village green. The hotel was named after Ambion Hill where the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 was initially believed to have taken place. King Richard III was defeated by the Future King Henry the 7th in that battle, but recent research established that the Battle actually occurred a mile west of Dadlington. The two kings are now honoured by the near completed and impressive Bosworth 1485 trail. This unique property blends today's high expectations with yesterday's rustic charm. The stuccoed walls wooden beams and exposed brickwork give the building a traditional feel. Currently, there are seven guest bedrooms, all have ensuite. Six of the rooms can accommodate two guests each and the seventh will take three. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs and what was the old hayloft and they have views across the village green. One of these rooms is the magnificent Pine Room which is perfect for those special occasions. The remaining five bedrooms are in attractively converted Stables with individual access from the rooms to the enclosed courtyard.

Vendors comment: We have lived in Dadlington for 35 years and are very fond of this small, attractive and friendly village with its marvelous natural surroundings. The 31 mile Ashby-de-la-Zouch canal wends past Dadlington, west of here just a 15-minute walk away. The canal is popular for boating, hiking, fishing and birdwatching. Our village is surround by many fields and wonderful sights laden was sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, ponies and even alpacas. Other fields will be sprouting various crops at the appropriate times. There are about 115 houses in Dadlington, which are generally very different in their styles. Our own domestic section takes half the upstairs floor with two bedrooms, a lounge and a bathroom. This cozy area can accommodate four people. Our social centre consists of a church, a village Hall, and The Green, all position closely to each other.

The St James Church, was built in the 13th century and is now used for traditional purposes including singing by a local choir and flower festivals. The village hall provides a popular venue for singing, dancing, coffee mornings’ dining, partying, village meetings and even voting. This hall is used by us and also people from further afield.

Our central acre of green land is perfect for walking, looking after children, dogs, football, cricket, fetes, resting and the like, and is available at all times. The recent development of Bosworth 1484 trail, created to encourage hikers and tourists to walk 12 mile route and view its five dramatic stone features which demonstrate the progress of the 1485 battle.
