Description
Overview
Ocean Estate Agents are delighted to present this elegant and generously proportioned detached house to the local market for the first time in over 22 years. Originally constructed circa 1912 this charming home has been thoughtfully and extensively extended, now offering superbly versatile accommodation.
The property consists two spacious entrance halls with recessed porches, a delightful living/family room, a separate lounge, and a dining room opening into a well appointed, spacious kitchen. Additional ground floor spaces include a gym/studio, utility room, shower room, and cloakroom.
Upstairs, the home offers six bedrooms, five generous doubles and one single, complemented by three ensuite bathrooms and a family bathroom.
Further potential is afforded by the versatile double garage/workshop, with a staircase leading to a floored upper level, presenting an excellent opportunity for further development, subject to the necessary consents.
Outside
The house opens beautifully onto its front and rear gardens, which are thoughtfully arranged into two sunny areas. To the front, a stunning raised alfresco deck provides an exceptional space for entertaining, ideal for enjoying gatherings with family and friends while taking in breathtaking sunsets across Brean Down and the Bristol Channel. Just below, a beautifully maintained, enclosed lawned garden offers further space for relaxation.
There is practical side access from the front and rear leading to a secure ‘mud zone’, perfect for dogs and muddy boots, providing direct entry into the side entrance hall, utility, and shower rooms.
To the rear, an additional garden features a lawn and a further raised deck, ideally positioned to capture the morning sun, perfect for early morning coffee or breakfast. The property also benefits from plenty of off street parking and access to a substantial double garage/workshop, complete with a useful mezzanine level, perfect for storage or development (subject to any relevant permissions).
Location
Bleadon Hill is ideally situated to enjoy all that Weston-super-Mare has to offer including supermarkets, retail parks, parks and train stations, while also benefiting from the charm and convenience of the local amenities within Bleadon. These include the village country store and Post Office, a selection of traditional pubs and restaurants, a café, and convenient bus routes providing access to the hospital and town centre.
There are several nearby nature reserves and superb coastal walks and hiking opportunities within the nearby scenic Mendip Hills.
We think...
Houses of this size with this much versatile accommodation are rare to the market, there is only one way to appreciate this home and that is to book an internal viewing. The current owners says..’love being so close to the countryside but also being able to easily walk down to Uphill or in to Weston’s town centre. We have never tired of the stunning West facing view, the beautiful sunsets and evening skies. We have watched the view changing with the seasons every year and offering something new every day. (Indeed, it wasn’t that long ago that we realised you could see TWO national parks – Pen-Y-Fan and the Brecon Beacons and Exmore!) It has also been the perfect setting for alfresco dining, barbecues, morning coffees in the sun and entertaining.
Our children and more recently grandchildren have loved playing in the large enclosed gardens. We and our families have also appreciated the easy access to scenic cycling, running and walking routes from here. Recently, a new forest school has opened a few hundred yards away and there is also a bus stop 50 yards away to take you in to town’.
