Description

A 19th century three bedroom detached cottage with front and rear gardens, a gated private driveway approach, a detached garage, and countryside views to the rear. Originally built in 1800s, the property is a historic part of the village becoming the village sweet shop in 1910. It was extended in 2007 by the current owner, to provide additional ground floor accommodation and a third bedroom. Pondmead took its name from the ponds which were previously found in the nearby fields.

Situation and Schooling

The cottage is about 10 minutes’ walk (0.6 miles) from Stoke Mandeville railway station which has services to London Marylebone. Alternatively, Tring railway station (9.6 miles) has services to Euston. Stoke Mandeville has three pubs, two of which also have restaurants, a village store with a post office, a combined school and Stoke Mandeville Hospital with an A&E department. Aylesbury (3.4 miles) has further amenities, including supermarkets, sports and leisure facilities, and Wendover High Street (3.6 miles) has a selection of shops, restaurants and coffee shops.
