PIETRANICO - PESCARA PROVINCE

Located on the highest hill in the province of Pescara, Pietranico is 590 metres above sea level and has the most amazing views. You can gaze upon the dramatic snow-capped peaks of the Gran Sasso and then turn to look at the inviting blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. Pietranico is a small town with a population of 506 and its economy is based on agriculture, in particular olives for oil and grapes for wine.

Apart from the ancient castle, most of the village was built from the 15th century onwards and there are some fine 19th century palaces to admire as you stroll around the town.

The town is equipped with all the services such as bars, supermarket, butcher, pharmacy, post office and an excellent bus service that connects with Pescara, Chieti and the main neighbouring municipalities.
