Description

Impressive granite built former manse with fabulous contemporary extension and beautiful rural setting.

Description

Located along Royal Deeside and just under 15 miles from Aberdeen City, West Manse is nestled within well established and generous garden grounds of about 1.5 acres and is surrounded by rolling countryside. This handsome detached period house has been beautifully updated in recent years, with the significant addition of a contemporary wing, and is immaculately presented throughout, with light and spacious accommodation featuring open plan spaces.

West Manse is an exceptionally attractive home, both inside and out, and features an imaginative layout that capitalises on the stunning rural outlook. Entered on the ground floor, there is a good-sized hallway with useful rooms off – namely the utility and boot rooms, both with fitted cabinetry, and a WC. Also on this level are two en suite bedrooms, including the principal bedroom which boasts a fabulous bathroom complete with freestanding bath, separate shower and twin wash basins. There is also an inviting home office/gym with built-in bookshelves and cosy fireplace with traditional log burner. Upstairs is the real heart of the home, situated in the contemporary extension: a spectacular 52 foot open plan living space with wooden flooring, cathedral-style beamed ceiling and a full height glazed gable framing uninterrupted countryside views. At one end is the modern kitchen with island unit; in the centre is the dining area, while at the gable end there is a sleek wood burning stove and the sitting/living area. There is another reception room in the form of the family room or lounge which links the traditional original house with the new wing. Completing the upper floor are four further double bedrooms and a bathroom.

Outside: West Manse has a private drive, plenty of parking and 1.5 acres of lawn interspersed with mature trees. Outbuildings include an impressive detached garage building which includes a storage level and a further timber outbuilding.
