Description

A rare and exciting opportunity is available for anyone looking for the pleasure of living in a unique country home with stunning rural views, but one that also comes with planning permission for three additional detached houses in the grounds. Located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Wingham with far reaching countryside views and backing onto woodland, this charming home is approached along a private driveway that leads to the double garage and a large gravel parking area.

Originally a two bedroom bungalow built in 1952, it has been extended over the years to become a fascinating two storey family home. The front porch leads to a hall area with engineering oak flooring that flows through much of the property and access to a partially boarded attic. There is a stunning open plan, dual aspect living room featuring impressive ceiling beams, a fireplace, fitted bookshelves and a large bay window providing a panoramic vista. The adjacent kitchen and dining area has shaker style units and granite worktops housing various appliances and an adjacent cloakroom and utility room as well as a door to the attractive conservatory.

A large inner hallway includes a staircase to the first floor, a superb family bathroom with a linen cupboard and three double bedrooms. One is dual aspect with lovely views and an ensuite shower and separate toilet, another is currently used as a study/workroom, while the main suite features fitted cupboards with a concealed dressing table, an ensuite shower room and French doors to the rear terrace.

The first floor landing is large enough for a lounge area and leads to three double bedrooms with wonderful views including one with dual aspect, a vaulted ceiling and a double fitted cupboard.

The garden has a terrace and a lawn with shrub borders interspersed with trees backing onto woodland, while driveways on each side of the property will ultimately lead to the new properties.

What the Owner says:

I fell in love with this house with its wonderful views the moment I saw it 13 years ago and it has been a special family home since that time . However it is time to start a new chapter and pass the baton to owners who can take advantage of the planning permission for a four bedroom and two three bedroom detached houses in the grounds.
Wingham includes two pubs, a bus service, a general stores and a country market, a primary school, surgery and dentist and close by is Gibsons excellent farm shop. The village also has a number of societies and sports clubs, a recreation ground and the Wingham Wildlife Park. Nearby Adisham has a train station and a primary school rated Outstanding by Ofsted, while excellent grammar and private schools are available in Canterbury. This city also has three universities, a further education college, high street stores, individual shops, restaurants, historic buildings and two mainline stations including Canterbury West where the high speed train takes less than an hour to London.
