Description
This is a property that enjoys a pleasant setting between Christleton and Waverton which are two of Chester's most highly sought after villages. The aforementioned store, café/deli, pharmacy, hairdressers and fast food are a ten minute walk or a couple of minute's drive along Brown Heath Road and into Waverton, and the village recently welcomed the services of the dog groomers and barbers. There is also the village hall where a number of activities including the monthly village cinema and coffee mornings are held. The field to the side is where the annual village fete takes place.
The Outstanding Christleton Primary School, the Good and Outstanding High School and 6th Form are at the top of Plough Lane and in the village you will also find a couple of pubs, a café, hairdressers, store and dentist. There are also a number of beautiful churches and chapels.
The canal is about a ten minute walk, the river about 35 to 40 minutes and the city itself a little further.
The accommodation at number 6 starts with a single storey pitched roof porch with exposed timbers and a Countryside facing window. From here a timber door opens into the living room that comprises of a lounge area with an attractive brick fireplace and to the other side of the timber staircase is a dining area. We think this is a fantastic arrangement that creates a sense of space and if an open or gas fire were to be reinstated then this is certainly the place to enjoy those colder nights. The timber panelling that is usually found on more expensive properties really adds something to this room and what also makes number 6 special in our opinion is the open arrangement with the galley style kitchen. The kitchen features an exposed brick wall and has been recently updated with classic style ivory coloured doors. There is room for an under counter washer, dryer, fridge and freezer. The cooking station is a wider 5 ring gas burner with steel extractor and a fan assisted oven. To the other side is the prep and utility area that enjoys a side aspect outlook. Beyond the kitchen is a small lobby where a part glazed door opens onto the side aspect.
The bathroom comes next and comprises of a deep panelled bath with a chrome mixer tap and a mixer shower with detachable hand shower attachment that has been set into the tiling. A basin and WC makes up the 3 piece suite and there is additional space for storage/installation of a cupboard.
Moving upstairs and the master/main bedroom is front facing. It is this room that enjoys the beautiful countryside views that look quite dramatic throughout all seasons and especially in the snow. Bedroom 2 also comfortably fits a double bed and this bedroom enjoys a pleasant outlook over the garden and the surroundings. The bathrooms to cottages of this age are often downstairs but at number 6 you have the benefit of the Jack and Jill 2 piece WC between the bedrooms.
The garden is a good size and private. To the side and immediate start of the garden is a stone flag path which turns to a slightly raised lawn. There is a good selection of mature plants and shrubs that leads past a circular stone and shingle feature to a substantial timber storage facility/work shop - enjoying natural light through the transparent polycarbonate panelling. Attractive timber fencing sits on a concrete brick style wall marking the boundaries and complements the garden well. This is a private and tranquil outdoor space with pleasant surroundings that is visited by a variety of smaller birds.
With number 6 and the location you have a property and lifestyle that can rightly be described as a winning combination. It is an opportunity you have to see as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
