Description
Planning Permission in Principle was granted on April 2026 (REF TBC) for the erection of a house and garage.
The plot (0.29 acres) is offered for sale together with a turnkey package where Mac Isaac Builders will work with the purchaser to advise, project manage, design and build a three-bedroom home on this idyllic island.
The purchaser will have the freedom to customise their new home to suit their individual tastes and lifestyle, down to the smallest detail. This package is designed to take away the stress of a self-build having the resources on tap for your project on the Island.
Mac Isaac Builders work closely with architects and a timber frame supplier, offering a unique system of factory injected, closed panel timber frames that offer long lasting energy efficiency and low emissions.
So you can enjoy your new home as quickly as possible, Mac Isaac Builders provide a comprehensive range of services and products. Not only working closely with the timber frame supplier and coordinating the manufacture and delivery of your new home, but also the supply of windows, internal and external doors, architrave, skirting and finishing, insulation, plasterboard and stairs – everything you need to build a new life.
The house will be situated in a quiet location and 1 minute drive to a long sandy Beach. The popular Polochar Inn is only 1.5 miles away and there is a good size Co-op in Daliburgh 3.1 miles.
South Uist has white shell-sand beaches to the west and heather uplands dominated by Beinn Mhòr to the east. The 20 miles of machair that runs alongside the sand dunes provide a marvellous habitat for the rare Corncrake. Golden Eagles, Red Grouse and Red Deer can be seen on the mountain slopes to the east.
Lochboisdale is only 6 miles away and is the main settlement of South Uist, served by ferry to Mallaig/Oban on the mainland.
Mains water and electricity
Drainage will be to a treatment or septic tank
From Lochmaddy take the A867 to Clachan. Turn left and follow the A865 for approximately 31 miles, then take the B888 for approximately 3.2 miles until you reach the signpost for Garrynamonie on the right-hand side. Take this turn and the plot is 50 metres along on your right. South Uist can be reached by ferry from Oban via Lochboisdale or from Uig on Skye to Lochmaddy or by the smaller ferry which weaves its way through the small islets of the Sound of Harris between Leverburgh on Harris to Berneray, connected by (non-tidal all-weather) causeways via Benbecula to South Uist and from the Barra ferry in Eriskay.
