Description
If you need help with a mortgage, speak to Beth at Love Mortgages, she's Award Winning and voted Mortgage Broker of the Year three years running - and yes, the advice is free. Just Google 'LoveMortgages Mold' and check out the reviews for yourself.
If you are looking for a stylish home and you love entertaining for large gatherings, it comes with three generous reception rooms, a huge and stylish kitchen, it's immaculate inside and ready to move straight into, there's a massive workshop in the rear garden which is easy to maintain with its fake grass. The rear garden backs onto land that's not been built on, so pretty private, unlike most modern estates.....if this ticks boxes, may I suggest you keep on reading.
For some, village life means living in a state of semi permanent inconvenience where the shop, if there is one, is too small and ill equipped. You have to drive the kids to school every day, and woe betide anyone who forgets something off the weekly Tesco's list, as 'just popping back' will represent a couple of hours of your life you'll never get back.
And then there is somewhere like 'Leeswood'. A large enough conurbation to provide a Co-op big enough to meet most of your needs, while also providing a well regarded primary school, along with various take away food outlets and all within a few minute's drive of Mold, you know, for those occasions when only a real town will suffice. Leeswood is a popular location, and for a reason.....
Virtually in the centre of the village and in easy reach of the large playing field where the kids can run riot without disturbing your peace, Oak Drive is the archetypal British collection of three bedroom semi detached housing.....but with this particular example, you never feel that yours is the same as everyone else's, mainly because it isn't.
What was originally the front garden has been given over to attractive block paving which provides off road parking for multiple vehicles. To one side of this is a raised lawn, which on closer inspection, is revealed as artificial because if we are honest, there are better ways to spend your weekends than tending unruly grass.
To the front elevation is a large brick porch where the 'front' door is set in one side. Stepping in here we find quite a large space, the perfect repository for outdoor coats and wet shoes that have no business further into the inner sanctum, and a doorway into the open plan lounge, where the stairs rise in front of us (obvs).
The lounge is bright and welcoming, thanks in no small part to the large picture window overlooking the front of the home. The floor in here is laid with very high quality wood effect laminate, and is a feature that continues throughout the ground floor, adding a genuine touch of class. The room's main focal point is in the shape of a very convincing electric living flame fire which, while probably unnecessary for heating purposes, provides that welcoming glow so important on an autumnal evening.
An archway to the rear takes us through to the dining room, a big room with more than enough space for a sensibly sized table, along with any additional furniture you fancy. So, if you love to entertain large groups of friends and family, that's a box you can tick off the list.
From the dining room, a set of fully glazed doors leads us into the conservatory, which is easily big enough to double as an additional lounge for family and friend gatherings. An example of what sets this home apart from your standard semi is found in the large radiator, which will enable year round use of the space. All too often, a conservatory which seemed such a good idea in the showroom, can't be used beyond October unless you decide to dress like Ranulph Feinnes, but connecting it to the home's central heating turns it into a genuine, usable extra room.
Another door from the dining room brings us into the kitchen, and what a kitchen this is.
Originally, it was the garage; to call it generous is an understatement, and it has been fitted out with scant regard to cost. There are units fitted to all four walls, but the scale of the room means it never feels crowded, and the amount of work surface on offer would shame many a professional kitchen! Speaking of which, should lavish dinner parties be your thing, space for the massive double sized cooker would cater for the most lavish of occasions with ease. This is the sort of home that makes you think of family occasions such as Christmas, Birthdays, Easter, Hannukkah, Yom Kippur....and anything else I may have missed out!
A door beside the sink unit at the rear of the room opens into the garden.
This is a fairly large space set over two levels and laid throughout with artificial grass and providing a choice of sheltered locations where you can simply sit and relax with a drink, and why not....it's not as if the grass needs cutting!!
However, life can't be all beer and skittles and should you be taken by a need to feel industrious, on the upper level of the garden towards the far boundary, there sits a shed. However, to call it a shed really does it a disservice, because at 10ft x 20ft, it's actually a proper workshop, and as you'd expect, provided with both power and light. In here, you can indulge all those half forgotten hobbies of your misspent youth, or even just store all the previous failed attempts. Or, it would make an amazing Gym, where, if fully kitted out, I'm sure could service the whole neighbourhood, and comfortably too - although you'd need proper licences and council approval, so let's just keep it to a private, lavish Gym just for you!
Back inside and into the lounge, we travel up the stairs and come to the bright and spacious landing. It's nice and light here thanks to the frosted window at the top of the stairs. Woe then have doors that open to all of the bedrooms and the family bathroom.
If we start with the main bedroom, it's a generous double, offering ample space for a large bed. Being such a good sized room, it offers space for twin bedside cabinets, as well as one complete wall of fitted wardrobes, so unless you are Imelda Marcos, storage should never be an issue. If you like star gazing, a large window allows you to gaze until you fall asleep.
Adjacent to here and overlooking the rear garden (as well as the night sky, you won't miss out in here either), the second bedroom is another well proportioned double room where there is space for some chests of drawers which can fulfil the dual role of bedside cabinets, providing the answer to more of your clothes storage needs.
The final bedroom is, the smallest, or third one. It's ideal for a child or young adult who would find little to complain about in here. Now, depending on the size and make up of your family, should you find that two main bedrooms are enough, it could be used as your own formal dressing room....now wouldn't that be a bit posh? Or even, with rising fuel costs turning commuting into a luxury, a home office may solve a problem you never knew you had.
Opposite here and at the far end of the landing, is the stylish family bathroom, which in all honesty, is a bit of a revelation. With its ceramic 'wood' floor and marble patterned wall tiles, it oozes class and combines this with modernity through its unitary hand basin with the storage drawers beneath, your obligatory toilet and then a rather lovely 'P' shaped bath with its twin headed rain shower above and glass screen protector

All in all, this is so much more than the sum of its parts. An initially ordinary-looking home that is pleasant enough, it manages to transform your opinions as soon as you enter, with the open and spacious lounge with its eye catching real flame effect fire, which then continues to impress as you move into the separate dining room, so entertaining is a big tick here, and then you step inside the spacious and well equipped kitchen. The attached workshop in the garden, is something many men and women would set out to make for themselves, but to find them already here is a real bonus and the garden, spacious, enclosed and private (and maintenance free...) marks this out as a splendid family home with something for everyone. Younger family members are catered for with the excellent primary school in the village and with Mold 10 minutes away in the car, it really is all things to all men and women......
So give Berry and George a call today, it'll be the best thing you do all day...unless you're a film star, racing driver etc, in which case, it'll be the 2nd best thing you do!
