Peaceful, Convenient Area with Good Local Amenities and Transport Links
Overall, I found the property to be well designed, with a practical layout that makes good use of the available space. The communal areas were clean, tidy, and well maintained, creating a welcoming environment. The facilities appeared to be in good condition and suitable for residents’ everyday needs. The building management seems to have maintained the property to a good standard, with attention given to cleanliness, security, and general upkeep. Property management also appears to be responsive and organised, as the building was presented in a professional manner. Overall, the property offers a comfortable and well-managed living environment, although continued maintenance and prompt attention to repairs will help preserve its quality over time.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The area has a good range of local shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés, making everyday shopping and dining convenient. There are also pleasant parks and open green spaces nearby for walking and outdoor activities. Public transport is mainly provided by regular bus services, which offer good access to surrounding areas, although there is no train station within close walking distance. Each property has its own allocated parking space, so parking is not an issue. The street is generally quiet, with little traffic noise, regular bin collections, and no significant problems with anti-social behaviour. Overall, it is a peaceful and convenient place to live.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes,all the time they have been responsive to any problem raised
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
One thing I wish I had known before moving in is that it would have been helpful to have a clearer understanding of the rent negotiation process and whether there was any flexibility available before agreeing to the final amount. Apart from that, the property has been a pleasant place to live. I would advise new neighbours to familiarise themselves with the local area, bus routes, and nearby amenities, as these details are not always obvious during a viewing. The allocated parking space, quiet street, and general upkeep of the area are definite positives.

Great place for life
The paperwork process is quick and professional, operations are fully compliant with regulations, and any issues that arise are addressed promptly. Everything needed for comfortable living is provided. There are no parking issues, though numbering the parking spaces would be helpful. The only thing I would recommend adding is a dedicated window cleaning service (scheduled once a month in coordination with tenants).
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
I have been living at Scalars View for about five years. It is conveniently located near schools and public transport, offers affordable rates, and provides comfortable living. There is an Aldi nearby, and a bit further away, a Tesco and a local swimming pool, gym, and fitness centre. I probably don't need to mention hair and nail salons—there are plenty of them everywhere.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Prompt, same-day responses to inquiries, along with detailed, accessible, step-by-step instructions, are especially helpful for those with little prior experience dealing with rentals, security deposits, and related documentation.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
There is no place to store bicycles: leaving them in the courtyard carries a risk of theft (no one is immune to theft), and there is simply not enough space inside the house.

Scholars View Development Review
Scholars View is a modern, well‑designed development with tidy streets and a pleasant layout. The homes feel solidly built, and shared areas are generally well maintained.
Building and property management keep the development clean, and bin collections run smoothly. The main drawback is that parking spaces aren’t marked for individual houses, which can cause occasional confusion. Most of the development is quiet, with only a few homes close to the busier A182. Overall, it’s a comfortable and well‑managed place to live.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Living in Scholars View has been a positive experience. The area is quiet, tidy, and feels safe for families. One of the biggest advantages is the close distance to the primary school — only about a 5‑minute walk, which is extremely convenient.
Local shops are limited, but larger supermarkets are around a 10‑minute drive away. Public transport links are generally reliable, though less frequent in the evenings. Bin collections are regular, and anti‑social behaviour is very rare.
The main downside is that parking spaces aren’t marked for specific houses, which can cause some confusion. Inside the development the streets are calm with minimal traffic noise, although the main A182 road is quite busy — but only about six houses sit directly on it, and the rest of the development is set further back and stays peaceful.
Overall, it’s a comfortable and friendly place to live.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Building management has responded relatively fast to any issues I’ve raised. Communication has been straightforward, and most concerns have been acknowledged and dealt with in a timely way. While some matters, like unmarked parking spaces, still need improvement, overall their response has been efficient and helpful.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
One thing I wish I had understood better before moving in is how uncomfortable the unmarked parking spaces can be. I knew the spaces weren’t allocated to specific houses, but I didn’t realise how often this would lead to confusion or awkward situations. It’s a small detail that isn’t obvious during a viewing, but it definitely affects day‑to‑day convenience. Other than that, the development has been a pleasant place to live.

Going downhill
Rent rises each year, prices are now way too high for the location of the estate, the general cleanliness has gone down over the past year, bins problems, parking problems and a clear disregard for neighbours and their living situation.the quality of residents has significantly deteriorated
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Easington lane is clearly a run down area, poor choice of local shops ,I've noticed in the past year rental residents are breaking their tenancy agreement by parking wherever they like, inconveniencing other residents and footpath users,I'm very disappointed and now thinking of moving out.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I've raised parking concerns and bin concerns ,parking has had zero done about it bins there was a temporary improvement but it's heading back to how it was, rats have been seen
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
That the rent increases would become ridiculous, that other tenants break the tenancy agreement with no comeback .

Manager's response
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that some aspects of living at Scholars View have left you feeling disappointed, particularly around parking, bin management and the impact these issues can have on day-to-day life. We have picked this feedback up with your Resi Services Team for the neighbourhood to see if they can help resolve any issues.
We understand that rent increases can be frustrating. Our rents are reviewed annually and benchmarked in line with local market rates, but we appreciate that any increase can feel significant and affect how residents view the overall value of their home.
We appreciate your honesty and thank you for raising these concerns with us.
