Thornley Station Industrial Estate lies less than a mile to the south of the village immediately east of the B1280 at its junction with the B1279. Shotton Colliery is a former mining village in eastern County Durham which lies just to the west of Peterlee. It is around 24 miles south-east of Newcastle upon Tyne, 16 miles to the north of Middlesbrough and 12 miles east of Durham. Shotton Colliery lies approximately 1 mile to the west of the A19 which is one of the main arterial routes running north to south through the region linking Tyneside in the north and Teesside to the south. The B1280 passes north to south along the western edge of the village. Durham Tees Valley Airport is situated 18 miles to the south.

Description:

Thornley Station Industrial Estate comprises of two terraces either side of a central yard. The estate totals 12,895 sq ft and is split into 10 single storey workshop / industrial units ranging in size from 506 sq ft up to 2,001 sq ft.

Units 1A-D are constructed of steel frame construction with brick / block elevations and continuous glazing to the upper parts. Externally, the site is surrounded by steel palisade fencing and a gated entrance from the main estate road.
