The hotel provides comfortable surroundings that include a large public bar and lounge areas along with a brasserie restaurant. There is a car park that is fully enclosed free for residents of the

The Bull Hotel is located centrally within the historic and ancient city of Peterborough in the English County of Cambridgeshire. The city is accessible via the A1 / A1(M) located to the west, this is the primary north-south artery connecting the city to London (74 miles) and Leeds (120 miles). Other major roads are the A47 an east-west trunk road linking the city to Leicester (42 miles) and Kings Lynn (35 miles). Cambridge is located 30 miles south via the A14 that links to the A1 and the Cathedral city of Ely is 24 miles east.
There are several attractions within walking distance of the hotel. Peterborough Cathedral known for its Gothic façade, local museums and art galleries. The Nene Valley Railway, a heritage steam railway. The main rail station is within a 5 minute walk of the hotel a principal stop on the East Coast Main Line with regular services from Kings Cross (London) to Edinburgh with journey times to central London of 45-50 minutes.
The City of Peterborough whilst having historic links back as far as the Bronze Age has saw significant population growth between the 1970’s and early 1990’s driven by new service sector companies establishing in the city such as travel, insurance and industrial along with Government establishments such as the passport office.
To cope with this population growth significant house building has taken place around the city encompassing some near-by villages into the city limits.
Peterborough was subjected to significant damage during the second World War along with a major fire in 1956 where much of the old city was destroyed. Much of the city centre is now open plan with large Boulevards for pedestrianised shopping. It was designated a New Town in 1967 with a development corporation formed in partnership with city and county councils to house London’s overspill population in new townships sited around the existing urban area.
Today, Peterborough is a modern progressive city with excellent employment opportunities and infrastructure. Central to the city and opposite the hotel is the Queensgate Shopping Mall, opened in 1982 it has over 100 stores within the 800,000 sq ft development along with a multiplex cinema and provides parking for over 2,300 cars.
A current major infrastructure project is the Peterborough Station Quarter, a £65m+ regeneration project transforming the area around the railway station which includes a new station entrance, additional car-parking and improved cycle links to the city centre. These works are expected to start in 2026 and with the Bull Hotel just a couple of minutes away could provide additional income revenues.
