The site is located within the village of Murton, which provides local services and facilities and is approximately 0.5 mile to the west of Dalton Park shopping centre. Dalton Park provides approximately 60 shops as well as a wide selection of restaurants and a 7 screen cinema, Cineworld.
Murton is approximately 10 miles to the east of Durham City Centre, which offers wider facilities such as major shops, businesses and national rail lines.

Access
Road – The site has road access from the rear of Woods Terrace, which is part of the adopted highway. There is pedestrian access from Woods Terrace to the front of the building. The site offers excellent links to the A19 to the east and provides good links to the A690 to the west, with the A690 also leading directly to the A1(M), with all three roads being major road networks through County Durham.
Rail – Durham Railway Station (approximately 10 miles to the south west) provides routes to Newcastle upon Tyne to the north, and to Darlington to the south.
Air – Newcastle International Airport is located approximately 27 miles to the north, whilst Teesside International Airport is located approximately 30 miles to the south. Both airports provide scheduled and chartered flights to a range of national and international destinations.

The building is a two storey traditional brick built structure constructed circa 1976. The construction type is red brick with a pitched slate roof along with timber framed doors and windows, with steel security shuttering securing the building.
