FREEHOLD ART GALLERY - STALHAM, NORFOLK

Limehouse Art Gallery is a respected independent gallery presenting a diverse portfolio of contemporary and fine art from more than forty artists. Set in a prominent position on a busy High Street, the gallery enjoys excellent visibility, regular footfall, and a supportive local audience. Its distinctive frontage and elegant interior have helped it become a focal point for art collectors, visitors, and creative professionals alike.

The gallery hosts an ever-changing selection of exhibitions featuring painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed-media works. Its reputation for quality curation and approachable atmosphere has established it as a key cultural destination in the area. The surrounding neighbourhood offers a strong mix of independent shops, cafés, and complementary businesses, providing a lively backdrop for continued success.

BUSINESS:

The gallery operates as both an exhibition venue and retail outlet, offering an extensive range of original artworks and limited-edition pieces. Regular curated shows, private viewings, and community events keep the programme dynamic and engaging, while the on-site workshops and art classes provide a valuable additional revenue stream.

A well-established roster of over forty represented artists ensures a constantly refreshed collection, appealing to both first-time buyers and established collectors. The business benefits from strong relationships within the arts community and a loyal customer base, built on professionalism, presentation, and consistent quality.

Income is generated from rents received from the artists displaying their works as well as commission on sales and in addition a hire rate is charged for classes and workshops held at the premises. Whilst currently generating in excess of £2,000pm this could be increased further in the hands of a new owner.

Opportunities exist to expand through increased online marketing, additional workshops, or collaborative exhibitions. The business would suit an experienced curator, gallery owner, or creative entrepreneur seeking to build upon a well-established operation.

PREMISES:

Occupying a prominent unit, the property offers a bright and adaptable space across two floors. The ground floor opens directly from the High Street into a 3.6 × 4.8 metre reception gallery featuring a service counter, wall-mounted artworks, and ample space for freestanding pieces.
