The village of Princetown stands just off the A465 Heads of the Valley trunk route close to the towns of Tredegar and Rhymney in the North Gwent Valley just on the southern fringe of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The pub is easily found off the main A465 by following signs for Rhymney and Princetown and the Parc Bryn Bach Country Park. Despite its semi rural location it is in easy motoring distance of several large towns including Merthyr Tydfil, Tredegar and Ebbw Vale.

The Prince of Wales is easily found being immediately on the main road that runs through the centre of the village.
