Town Description: Alhaurín El Grande is a great place to live being strategically situated inland but only 20 minutes drive to the coast, so the house prices are generally cheaper than the same type of property down on the coast. There are easy access roads to Málaga and Fuengirola and if you don't want to drive, there are regular bus routes to and from the other towns and villages and even to the coast. The town has a good variety of quality restaurants and bars, public swimming pool, sports centre, several public schools, a lovely modern public library, a large public health centre on the top part of town and even a theatre. Due to the town's location, it is protected from the extremes in weather both in summer and in winter. Alhaurín has its fair share of public holidays including the annual town fair, 'on your bike day', and even a yearly marathon.
