Owner's Comment
"I bought this house in 2015 straight from Barratt’s housing estate map — I basically picked it off a grid because it fitted my budget and needs. It was brand new and came with white goods like a fridge, washing machine, and a gas cooker, which I really wanted. The small back garden was also a big plus; I like pottering around out there and sunbathing.
The house is energy-efficient, with solar panels that help in the summer, and it has two separate thermostats — one for downstairs and one for the master bedroom, which overlooks the garden. That gives me control over the heating depending on where I am in the house.
Another major bonus was the two parking spaces out front — super convenient for shopping trips and not having to deal with street parking. It’s also tucked away in a little cul-de-sac off the main road, which makes it quiet and friendly. I know the neighbours and we have quick chats now and then, which I like.
I find the area really convenient. It’s got easy access to the A38, so getting to Exeter or heading into Cornwall—whether through Saltash or the Torpoint Ferry—is simple. I’m not right in the suburbs, but I’m close enough to the city, which is great for shopping and getting to places like the Barbican and Plymouth city centre. It’s also perfect for work—just five minutes away for me.
I live on a Barratt housing estate, and it’s well set up with a library, café, shop, and a regular bus service. There are a few primary schools nearby too, which is great for families. There’s even a playing field and a little park, ideal for kids and walking the dog. I do all my food shopping locally—Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Lidl—everything I need is here. Overall, Plymouth’s been great for me—really convenient."
