Freehold

Description

“We were instantly drawn to the high ceilings and big proportions, making for a light and airy space. We’ve carefully refurbished the house over the years, taking our time to create a calm and warm home. One of our favourite spots has to be the garden, which is private and south west facing, so a real sun-trap. To this day we are amazed by the peacefulness and quiet that feels a million miles away from the bustle of North Street even though it is in fact only 50 meters away. We have loved our time in Southville and on Fairfield Road and we're now proud to offer someone else the chance to love it as much as we have.”

This home

This three-bedroom Victorian home has been thoughtfully renovated by the current owners over the past six years, combining period character with modern updates. The ground floor features herringbone and wooden flooring throughout. At the front of the home is a tastefully decorated living room with a bay window, shutters, fitted storage and a feature fireplace. Behind this is a second reception room, with a lean-to that brings in plenty of natural light, making it a flexible space that could work well as a family room or for working from home. To the rear, there is a dining room leading through to a recently fitted kitchen with views over the garden.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and a stylish fitted bathroom. Overall, this family home offers a good balance of original features and practical living space, with the option to grow into such as converting the loft for additional rooms.

Outside

The garden enjoys a low maintenance finish with artificial lawn and outdoor porcelain floor tiles for summer dining. The garden is south west facing and is not overlooked from behind unlike similar homes in the area.

Living in Southville

Fairfield Road is a quiet residential street in Southville. The house lies close to North Street, a hub for local independents, restaurants, and shops, including Michelin recommended COR and OTHER, coffee shops Sweven and Burra, and The Tobacco Factory - a café, bar, and theatre that hosts a bustling Sunday market.

A short stroll across Gaol Ferry Bridge (10 minutes) will take you to Wapping Wharf - a vibrant foodie destination set on the edge of Bristol’s historic harbourside. Serving from converted cargo containers, you’ll find top Bristol indies including Gambas, Cargo Cantina, Lapin, Ragu and Swoon Gelato, as well as Elevate Yoga Studio, Hue Hair and Beauty, and Anna Cake Couture. The city centre is a further 15 minutes on foot.

Several parks are within easy reach of Fairfield Road with Greville Smyth Park a 15 minute walk away and the sprawling Ashton Court Estate a further 20 minutes beyond - an expansive 850 acres of wood and grassland that is home to the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta.

Bristol Temple Meads is a 10 minute drive or 30 minute walk away and offers direct services to Bath Spa (11 minutes) and London Paddington (1 hour 35 minutes). For local connections, the city centre is a short walk or cycle ride, and bus routes run regularly from North Street.
