Description
What first drew us to this home was its incredibly peaceful setting. It’s overlooked only by trees, with a beautiful view of the viaduct, which gives it a real sense of calm despite being so close to the convenience of the Uxbridge Road. It feels like a personal oasis.
We also loved that, even though it’s a newer build, it has real character. My husband knew straight away it was the one and convinced me very quickly. In truth, it ticked every box, so it was an easy decision.
The community here is something really special. Everything is within walking distance, from the gym and cafés to the pubs and even the hairdressers, and there’s always someone to stop and have a chat with.
One of my favourite traditions is visiting The Ealing Beat. I’ve collected so many amazing pieces from local artists, and they’re all displayed around the house. My mum comes over from abroad every year and we make a day of it, walking for miles, stopping for a glass of wine at Questors Theatre, and choosing artwork together. Those pieces now have pride of place in both our homes and hold such lovely memories.
Day to day, the layout works perfectly for family life. The way the garden and surrounding trees feel like an extension of the living space is something we absolutely love, especially with the glass bi-fold doors, large windows and roof lights bringing in so much natural light. It’s a big space, which is ideal for a busy family of four, but it still feels cosy and welcoming.
Having a separate playroom has been a real bonus, giving everyone space to do their own thing before coming together in the main living and dining area.
The study probably feels the most ‘us’. It took the longest to get right, especially working around my husband’s Marshall stack, but now it perfectly reflects both of us. There are guitars, speakers and books alongside furniture I’ve upcycled myself, plus a mirror made from an old wardrobe door the children used to play in. It’s full of personality and family memories.
Why we’d buy it
There’s something quite rare about this house. It manages to feel tucked away and tranquil, yet you’re only moments from everything that makes Hanwell and Ealing so enjoyable to live in.
The positioning is a huge part of the appeal. Backing onto greenery with views towards the viaduct and Brent River Park, you get that sense of space and calm that’s increasingly hard to find, particularly in a detached home of this size.
Inside, it’s clearly been designed for real life. The main reception and dining space is generous without feeling overwhelming, and the connection to the garden through bi-fold doors and roof lights brings the outside in beautifully. It’s the kind of room that works just as well for a quiet Sunday as it does for a house full of people.
The additional study and separate playroom are exactly the sort of spaces buyers often wish they had but rarely find. Whether it’s working from home, keeping the living space clear, or simply having a bit of breathing room as a family, it all adds up to a house that functions effortlessly.
Upstairs, five bedrooms and three bathrooms provide flexibility for growing families, guests, or anyone wanting dedicated work or hobby space.
And then there’s the setting. Churchfields Conservation Area, Connolly Dell Park on your doorstep, and a genuinely strong local community. Being moments from the high-speed Elizabeth Line offers unparalleled connectivity into central London, the airport and beyond. It’s one of those locations where people tend to stay for a long time, and it’s easy to see why.
