Description

Fig Tree Cottage is a stunningly pretty, detached thatched cottage offering immense character. The property is situated in a beautiful semi rural setting within the village of Blendworth. Believed to date back to the 17th century, it has benefited from extensive improvements over the years. Features include exposed beams in many of the rooms, feature fireplaces with wood burners, flagstone floors and exposed brickwork to some internal walls.

The ground floor accommodation comprises a reception hall, cloakroom, inner hall, three reception rooms and a kitchen family room. This is a very good size and, in addition to being well fitted with a range of units, enjoys lovely views. On the first floor there are three bedrooms, a dressing room and a spacious landing. There is also a useful annexe providing a studio bedroom with an en suite shower room. A range of stables, a tack room and an attached garden room are also included, with one of the stables currently used as a home office.

Outside, the gardens and grounds are a particular feature of the property. Approached via a five bar timber gate, there is a large driveway with generous parking. An open bay car port is attached to the annexe, and the main cottage garden, extending in total to around 0.58 acres, features a variety of flower beds, mature trees and a small orchard. A greenhouse and vegetable garden are also included.

To the rear of the cottage is a delightful sun trap with a paved terrace enjoying lovely views over the garden. The equestrian facilities include the stable block and tack room, together with paddocks which benefit from separate power and water supplies and independent access from Boyes Lane. In total, the land amounts to approximately 5.8 acres.
