Description

Description

This three bedroom terraced home is deceptively spacious, The dining room and lounge have been made into one huge reception room, providing a great space for chilling out, eating and entertaining. The kitchen has been stylishly decorated with dark blue shaker units and a breakfast bar and is larger than you might expect in a terraced home of this era.

Upstairs the two double and one single bedroom, along with the family bathroom are accessed by an airy landing which has been freshly recarpeted, The principal bedroom is really spacious and has plenty of room for a huge bed and lots of wardrobes. The high ceiling and two windows at the front make it feel really light and bright. The second bedroom, a double also has plenty of room for a double bed and cupboards. Bedroom three, a single, overlooks the sunny courtyard garden. There are two loft hatches leading to a huge attic we may offer potential for extension (subject to planning of course)!

Sellers View

I was delighted to move into Kensington Road 11 years ago after a bit of competition with other keen buyers. The house has been perfect for me,
nice and warm in the winter and cool inside during some of the hot summers that we have had. The garden is great, such a sun trap in the summer, we have had some great afternoons here relaxing and soaking up the sun.

I have found the location to be so convenient for getting anywhere, Reading West train station is a 10 min walk away which has meant getting into London Paddington in 30mins.
I have also appreciated all of the parks and green space for getting out in the fresh air, Kensington park is just down the road and Prospect park just a few minutes away, perfect when I have fancied a longer walk. It's also been great in nice weather, to take a lovely walk along river thames (which is approximately 1 mile away) and I have enjoyed following it to Pangbourne or Sonning in the other direction.

The house has lots of original features and high ceilings and it’s generally deceptively bigger once inside. I have decorated recently and new carpets have just been installed on the stairs and landing. The main bedroom has always been a bit of a standout feature due to its size.

Something else to be considered is the current large boarded loft, I have thought that this could be converted into a large double bedroom with en-suite if desired. perhaps something the new owners might decide to do!

Debbie and Andre's view

What a fabulous property! On coming through the front door, the home has a great feel about it. The lounge has been really thoughtfully decorated by the current owner and as the two reception rooms have been combined, there is now a huge space for watching tv, dining or entertaining which we love! We are big fans of the period features, the two feature fireplaces and the gorgeous bay window to the front. The kitchen is NOT the usual galley style that often comes in a Victorian home, instead it is spacious, has plenty of room for everything and offers a great room for cooking and eating.

Upstairs again is really large, and the bedrooms are all good sizes with plenty of room for storage as well as sleeping and the whole upstairs is well proportioned with high ceilings.

What a bonus to find a really sunny courtyard garden! a great spot for a potter, a peaceful read or a drink with friends. This is a great home and one that we think would be perfect for couples or growing families.

Location

Before entering this delightful home, we had a quick walk around Kensington Park which is just a few minutes away and is perfect for keeping fit, walking the dog or getting in that all important exercise. Prospect park is also close by if you fancy a longer stroll of course. Alongside these great parklands, this home is in a great location for all of the amenites It's very easy to get into Reading town centre or if you like to keep more local, there is a Waitrose and other local shops not too far away too. West Reading Station is close by or of course Reading Station if you are a commuter. There are also primary and secondary schools near by, so perfect if you have children.
