Description

REF: JC0739 - Tucked away down a private drive behind the local nature reserve, this is the sort of house that instantly feels calmer than your average modern detached.

The position is a huge part of the appeal. With woodland directly opposite the front of the property and very little passing traffic, it has a much more private, tucked-away feel than most newer developments manage to offer. You are still close to everything you need day to day, but when you are actually at home, it feels properly peaceful.

Inside, the current owners have done a great job of giving the house personality without overdoing it. There is a slightly darker, more contemporary feel running throughout which works really well with the woodland setting outside.

The lounge is a fantastic size and easily becomes the main social hub of the house. The current setup works brilliantly because it creates separate areas within the room rather than just filling the space with one oversized sofa and hoping for the best. It is the sort of room that works just as well for family film nights as it does for having friends round.

The kitchen/diner feels much more practical and everyday-focused, with plenty of storage, breakfast bar seating, space for dining and a separate utility room keeping the washing machine chaos tucked out of sight. There is also a downstairs WC because nobody enjoys guests wandering upstairs asking where the toilet is after two drinks.

Upstairs, the bedroom layout works really well for family life too. The main bedroom feels nicely separate with fitted wardrobes and its own en-suite, while the additional bedrooms are all genuinely usable sizes rather than the usual “single bed and optimism” approach some builders go for.

Outside, the garden has clearly been designed for enjoying rather than endlessly maintaining. Raised decking, artificial lawn, multiple seating areas and a detached garage that has evolved into a brilliant entertaining space. You can absolutely imagine summer evenings out here turning into late nights far quicker than originally planned.

Overall, this is one of those homes that gets the balance right. Stylish without feeling try-hard, practical without being boring, and private without feeling isolated.

Location

Living on Nuthatch Close gives you a really nice balance between everyday convenience and proper access to green space. Tucked behind the nature reserve, this part of Heath Hayes feels quieter and more tucked away than many modern developments, whilst still keeping everything you actually need close by.

For families, there are several well-regarded schools nearby including Five Ways Primary School, Gorsemoor Primary School and Kingsmead School, making the school run nice and straightforward.

Day-to-day life is easy here too. You are only a short drive from the shops, cafés and supermarkets around Heath Hayes and Cannock, with McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands close by for shopping, restaurants and the occasional “I’ll just pop in for one thing” trip that somehow ends with three bags and a coffee.

If you enjoy being outdoors, this location really comes into its own. Cannock Chase is right on your doorstep for dog walks, bike rides, running trails and Sunday morning walks that are definitely meant to be “just a quick one” before turning into two hours and a pub stop.

Commuting is solid as well, with easy access to the A5, M6 Toll and M6, while nearby train stations at Hednesford railway station and Cannock railway station give direct links towards Birmingham and beyond.

Overall, Heath Hayes has that nice mix of practicality and lifestyle. Plenty nearby when you need it, but enough greenery and open space around you that life feels a little less hectic.
