Description

A stunning coastal retreat, elevated above Lamorna, surrounded by fields and stunning sea views across Mounts Bay.

Description

Set within grounds that are home to the ancient 12th-century ruins of Kemyel Manor, Lamorna View offers a rare opportunity to own a boutique lifestyle retreat with income (full residential) in a setting steeped in history and natural beauty.

Positioned above Lamorna Cove, in an area renowned for its historic artistic community, the property sits within a protected National Landscape and designated Heritage Coast, recognised for its historic and scientific importance. With direct access to the South West Coast Path, this is a location that continues to captivate visitors drawn to Cornwall’s rich cultural heritage and dramatic coastline.

Currently operating as a successful, high-quality holiday let, Lamorna View presents a compelling lifestyle investment, combining strong letting appeal with the flexibility of full residential use. The current owners undertook a refurbishment and interior renovation programme in 2026 and a new Sauna has been installed.

The property enjoys a prized south-facing position, capturing beautiful sunrises and sunsets, with panoramic, far-reaching views extending to The Lizard Lighthouse. This spectacular outlook, paired with the unspoilt surroundings, is an incredibly rare offering.

Internally, the accommodation has been thoughtfully designed to provide a refined yet welcoming environment. The open-plan living space features a vaulted ceiling, exposed stonework and a wood burner, while the contemporary kitchen and dining area are fully equipped for modern living. The bedroom suite is complemented by a luxurious bathroom and a versatile Dressing Room/Office, offering flexibility for both guests and owners.

Outside, the private grounds provide a tranquil setting, with a secluded courtyard, alfresco dining area and hot tub perfect for relaxing and taking in the surroundings. The property lies within one of only six designated Dark Sky areas in the UK, offering exceptional stargazing with no light pollution.

Accessed via a quiet rural track, Lamorna View benefits from no passing traffic, and no noise or light disturbance, ensuring complete peace and privacy an increasingly rare and valuable feature that underpins its ongoing success as a holiday let.

Combining historical significance, natural beauty and a proven income stream, Lamorna View represents a unique opportunity to acquire a turnkey coastal retreat in one of Cornwall’s most captivating and culturally rich locations.

Location

Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the cliffs tops between Mousehole and Lamorna, Lamorna View is located at the end of a long shared private lane and has a quite superb south facing position, surrounded by fields with views directly out to sea. The village of Lamorna is two miles away by road but only half a mile via the South West coastal path which is accessed just to the left of the property. Lamorna has a strong artistic community being popular with painters, potters, craftsmen and writers. There is an historic Inn called ''The Wink'' – the name most likely derived from the fact that the site was used by local smugglers, and ''tipping the wink'' to the landlord might get you contraband goods, or a signal to the landlord that you wanted, and were willing to pay for, a shot of something strong and illegal in your drink that couldn’t be mentioned by name.

Newlyn, just over 3 miles away, is a very vibrant place. Famous for both its historic and current fishing industry as well as the Newlyn School of Artists of the late 19th century. Lying on the shore of Mount’s Bay, Newlyn is one of the largest fishing ports in the UK. It lies adjacent to some of the richest fishing grounds in the Northern hemisphere and is the fulcrum of Cornwall’s fishing industry. The South West’s main fish market is in Newlyn and just opposite the harbour is good selection of excellent fish shops. Newlyn is also blessed with some great restaurants, café’s, bars, a specialist cheese shop, an excellent coffee shop, a traditional Cornish Ice cream shop and an independent cinema with its own restaurant.

The coastline around Newlyn & Penzance takes in some of the county’s most beautiful beaches, to include Sennen, Porthcurno & Praa Sands. The historic town of Penzance just five miles away has a wide range of shopping and schooling facilities. Penzance railway station provides direct trains to London Paddington and the town is now host to several well regarded restaurants and the recently refurbished Jubilee Pool.

The north coast is equally accessible with the town of St Ives a major attraction with its beautiful beaches, selection of high quality restaurants and its great shopping, not to forget the cultural experiences offered by Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the Bernard Leech pottery.
