***WATCH THE VIDEO TOUR***

Ridgeside is an impressive and substantial detached period residence, occupying a prominent position within the highly regarded village of Woodfalls, on the edge of the historic village of Downton. Elegant and beautifully proportioned throughout, the property offers an exceptional blend of period character, refined family living and versatile accommodation extending to five bedrooms, three reception rooms, a generous kitchen/breakfast room and beautifully landscaped gardens, together with ample parking and a large double garage.

The property enjoys an attractive approach, set behind a low-level brick wall with mature planting and two parking spaces at the front, with a driveway leading to the detached double garage with electric roller door. Internally, the house immediately conveys a sense of grandeur and timeless elegance. A striking entrance hall with elegant staircase, solid timber flooring and beautifully detailed stained-glass internal doors creates a superb first impression and sets the tone for the quality found throughout the home.

The principal reception rooms are particularly impressive, each enjoying high ceilings, excellent natural light and a wealth of original character. The formal dining room, positioned to the front of the property, features dual windows and a handsome, working fireplace, creating an ideal setting for formal entertaining. The drawing room is equally elegant, with dual front-facing windows, solid timber flooring, bespoke fitted cabinetry and a working cast iron-fireplace providing a charming focal point. Further reception space is provided by a separate study, ideal for home working, and an inviting snug, offering a more intimate retreat with an additional fireplace.

At the heart of the home lies the superb Kitchen/breakfast room, a beautifully light triple-aspect space designed perfectly for both family life and entertaining. The kitchen is fitted in a timeless country-house style with an extensive range of cabinetry, neutral work surfaces, integrated ovens and hob, together with space for further appliances. Tiled flooring and splashbacks complement the space, while the adjoining utility room provides additional storage, appliance space and practical access to the garden. The ground floor accommodation is completed by a cloakroom/WC.

The first floor continues the home’s elegant proportions, offering five well-appointed bedrooms, four of which are generous doubles. The principal suite is particularly impressive, approached via a charming window seat overlooking the surrounding gardens — a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the outlook. The bedroom itself benefits from dual-aspect windows, extensive fitted wardrobes and a spacious en suite bathroom comprising a bath, separate shower cubicle, WC, bidet and wash hand basin beneath a Velux rooflight.

The remaining bedrooms are all well-proportioned and benefit from fitted storage, while the fifth bedroom offers flexibility as a nursery, dressing room or additional study. The family bathroom is notably spacious and beautifully appointed, featuring both a bath and separate shower together with extensive vanity storage.

Outside, the gardens have been thoughtfully arranged to create attractive yet manageable outdoor space. An expansive patio terrace immediately adjoins the house, offering an excellent setting for al fresco dining and entertaining, while areas of lawn and mature planted borders provide colour and privacy throughout the seasons. A paved pathway leads to the detached garage and further seating areas. There is an access at the rear of the garage which leads to another garden area with a large shed benefiting from power and light.

Ridgeside occupies a superb position within the sought-after village of Woodfalls, ideally placed for access to both Salisbury and the New Forest National Park. The village benefits from a useful shop and post office as well as a village pub. The recent Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Morgan's Vale and Woodfalls CE Primary School and Mini Morgans Preschool is a short walk away from the home.

The nearby village of Downton offers a thriving community atmosphere together with an excellent range of day-to-day amenities including highly regarded schools, independent shops, cafés, public houses and healthcare facilities. The Cathedral City of Salisbury lies to the north and provides an outstanding range of cultural, educational and leisure amenities, together with direct rail services to London Waterloo. The surrounding countryside and nearby New Forest offer exceptional opportunities for walking, riding and outdoor pursuits, making Ridgeside an outstanding family home in one of the area’s most desirable village settings.

About Oliver Chandler, Salisbury

62 Castle Street, Salisbury, SP1 3TS

A property team built on firm foundations

Jamie and Faye launched Oliver Chandler in January 2018. But, as one of Salisbury's newest estate agents, they've already become one of its most successful.

However, their story together goes back much further than that!

Collectively, they have more than a couple of decades of property sales and property lettings experience around Salisbury between them to offer you. All of which is built on unrivalled local knowledge.

Faye grew up in the New Forest just to the south of Salisbury, while Jamie's family moved to the area when he was 13 years old. They grew up in the same village and became firm friends while attending secondary school in Fordingbridge

The best of rivals

From a standing start in 2006, Jamie then developed a successful career in property sales in Salisbury, working for some of the city's leading estate agents.

Faye began her career in the same year but focused on property lettings. She spent time in London and Salisbury, rising to be area manager with one estate agent and lettings director of another. During this time Faye became Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) qualified.

In fact, for many years Faye and Jamie worked directly opposite each other, for competing Salisbury estate agents. But, having often talked about joining forces and starting their own agency, and with their 40th birthdays looming, they finally took the plunge. In January 2018 they launched Oliver Chandler to specialise in property for sale and property for rent in Salisbury and the surrounding area.

Integrity and innovation

In a competitive market it's difficult to differentiate between estate agents. However, what sets Oliver Chandler apart is their belief in combining old-fashioned quality, service and value with new technologies to rapidly match the right property for sale or rent with the right people, for the right price.

Their reputation is such that most of their early growth has come almost exclusively through recommendation and referral.
