Description

Walnut Cottage is a delightful character cottage, believed to date back to about the 18th century, with later additions, and enjoys a host of period features including quarry tile flooring, period doors, exposed beams and feature fireplaces. The cottage benefits from five bedrooms together with parking, a rear garden and enclosed courtyard.

The cottage is accessed from the front door into a reception hall/study, with storage and a staircase to the first floor. Quarry tile flooring flows through the majority of the ground floor. The sitting room is located off the reception hall, and features an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner and built-in storage cupboards on either side. The kitchen/breakfast room enjoys a garden aspect and is well fitted with a range of units, built in storage and granite worktops. A glazed door opens on to the garden and there is plenty of room for a table. Integrated appliances include a double oven and warming drawer, gas hob, extractor, dishwasher and built in fridge. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with space for appliances and leads to a cloakroom. There is also door access to the outside courtyard. The family/dining room also lies off the kitchen and is full of character, with exposed wall and ceiling beams, together with a stunning inglenook open fireplace, flanked with built in cabinetry.

The property benefits from two staircases, both leading to the first floor with one from the reception hall, and one from the kitchen. The principal bedroom lies to the front, with a fireplace and a range of fitted wardrobes. There are three further bedrooms on this floor, one with a feature fireplace and one with an en suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom, with a freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle. On the second floor is a further room and door access to a large attic, giving useful storage space.

Outside
The cottage benefits from two parking spaces, one to the front and one to the side. A gate leads to the southerly facing rear garden, which is mainly laid to lawn, interspersed with mature trees, and flower borders. A wide gravelled path leads to an enclosed courtyard, giving the perfect spot for outside entertaining.
