Description

JP presents...Russets, a much loved detached family home with self-contained annexe, situated on a generous plot in this tucked away spot In Wingrave.

the property

Russets is an impressive detached family home which benefits from its own self-contained annexe, Little Russets. Built within the grounds of the Old Dairy, the plot originally formed part of an orchard, hence its signature apple-inspired name.

Today, we find a home that has remained within the same family for many years, thoughtfully adapted to suit the needs of multi-generational living and a growing family. Set back from the road within this peaceful cul-de-sac, the property offers generous accommodation and further potential.

As you enter the front porch, there is ample space for coats and shoes. The living room occupies the full depth of the house and enjoys a triple aspect, creating a wonderfully bright space complete with a gas fireplace and doors opening onto the rear garden. Adjacent is a separate dining room, again with doors leading outside. The kitchen is a good size, with potential to enlarge by incorporating the dining room or utilising more of the integral garage space. There is also external access from the kitchen, along with a downstairs WC for added convenience.

Upstairs, arranged around a spacious landing, are four bedrooms and a family bathroom. There are three generous doubles, with the fourth being a large single. What is particularly noticeable is how light the rooms feel, with many enjoying a dual aspect that allows natural light to flood in while making the most of the pleasant outlook.

Adjoining the main house is Little Russets, a fully self-contained annexe. It comprises a living room with doors opening to the garden, a double bedroom with built-in storage, a kitchen, separate utility room, and a full three-piece bathroom. This addition offers huge scope for those seeking multi-generational living, or perhaps for older children wanting their own space. Equally, it could be more fully incorporated into the main house to create additional living accommodation. The possibilities are numerous.

Externally, there is a pleasant front garden and driveway providing off-street parking. The integral garage offers further parking, storage, or potential for conversion. To the rear lies a simply divine oasis of a garden. Wrapping around the side of the house, the plot extends back a considerable distance. At some point, an additional parcel of land was acquired which stretches back to Nup End Lane. Currently arranged as a natural woodland-style area, it offers excellent potential for further parking, landscaping into a more formal garden, space for a garden office or gym, or simply somewhere peaceful to enjoy as it is today. The remainder of the garden comprises lawn, patio, mature borders and, of course, those wonderful Russet apple trees. An absolute delight!

But please don’t just take my word for it. Watch the video tour, browse the photos, and if you think this could be the home for you, get in touch with JP to arrange a viewing.

the location

Wingrave is an extremely charming hilltop village heavily influenced by Rothschild architecture. There are plenty of local amenities including a local shop, Church, school, public house, garage and famous village pond.

But that is really just the tip of the iceberg, as if ever there was a village with a true village community it is Wingrave. There are a plethora of local clubs and societies for whatever tickles your fancy. Whether it be bowls or netball, there is something for everyone. During the warmer months a village BBQ takes place every other Friday on the Recreation Ground. A chance for villagers to meet and connect. There is afternoon tea at the church on a Wednesday, Curry, Pizza or Spuds night at the Community Centre. The village involves itself heavily in Bucks Art Week as there are numerous artists within the village, as well as holding open garden events.

In terms of broader amenities, the market towns of Aylesbury, Tring and Leighton Buzzard are all close by with their High Streets and Supermarkets, as well as all offering rail services into London.

Local schools include Wingrave CoE Combined and access to the Grammar schools of Aylesbury.
