Description
Location
Morchard Bishop is one of the larger parishes in the county lying east of the A377 Exeter/Barnstaple road and north west of Crediton. It nestles comfortably in the very heartland of Devon, midway between the north and south coast and sitting between the two great Moors, Dartmoor and Exmoor. The village is surrounded by hilly, unspoilt countryside, yet is within easy travelling distance of Crediton, the City of Exeter and Tiverton. The village is well served by local regular buses to Crediton and Exeter and is three miles from Morchard Road station on the Barnstaple to Exeter Tarka line.
Description
The Front door with thatched porch over opens to the sitting room with window to the front, inglenook fireplace and woodburner, stairs to the first floor and a doorway to the dining room with a further inglenook and bread oven, vaulted ceiling and windows to three aspects. The kitchen has modern base units with a tiled floor, space for a range and two windows to the rear. A door opens to the rear lobby with a door to the rear garden and a door to the cloakroom. The first floor consists of the landing with a door to the rear bedroom with a window to the side and built in cupboard while the front bedroom benefits from a double built-in wardrobe with two windows to a Southerly outlook. Outside there are traditional cottage gardens to the front with the driveway leading to the good size garage/workshop with power connected. A courtyard to the rear of the house has steps up to the main gardens with two lawned areas and patio with a shed and shrub borders.
