Description

Seller's View

What we love the most about this house is that it has been a happy family home since the day we moved in 13 years ago - lots of family gatherings, and parties - room for a marquee in the garden and loads of great memories made here - even 2 Prom parties. Enjoyed so much that the grown up children haven’t moved out.

Once extended in 2017 the house was transformed - 16th Century charm mixed with the modern touches to make it flow easily through the centuries. The vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom with solid oak beams makes a very tranquil and calm space - and very hard to beat whenever we go away - we are yet to find a bedroom to compare to it!

The garden comes alive in the Spring and is a sanctuary all year round - we added the summer house last year and used it all winter too - a very useful and peaceful space which can be used as a garden office or just to chill.

Being surrounded by Bramshill forest and great country walks there’s always wonderful wildlife to see - opening the bedroom curtains in the morning and seeing a herd of deer with a white stag in the woods and hearing the birds singing makes it feel like we are living in a wildlife sanctuary.

With 5 adults living here, the versatile spaces mean we never feel crowded and can do our own things without annoying each other but can easily come together to eat and entertain.

Overall we love the great space we have and the character - (one wonky, centuries old chimney always makes me smile when I look at it ) - it all adds up to a beautiful happy home.

Chris’ Comments

Yaldens Cottage is one of those homes where you notice something different every time you walk around it.

There’s a huge amount of character here, but it still feels very liveable rather than formal or overly traditional. The house has evolved over time in a way that gives it a lot of flexibility, which is probably one of its biggest strengths. Whether someone needs space for family, working from home, guests or multi-generational living, there are plenty of options in how the accommodation can be used.

The main house has a really good feel to it. The reception rooms all have their own character and outlook onto the grounds, and there’s a nice balance between open spaces and quieter rooms. The main bedroom is particularly impressive, not just because of the size, but because of the views and natural light coming through.

Outside is where the setting really comes into its own. The garden feels established and private without being unmanageable, and the approach to the house gives it real presence from the moment you arrive. The separate office building is also a great addition and feels tucked away enough to properly separate work from the house itself.

The annexe works well too because it feels genuinely self-contained rather than an afterthought, so there’s real flexibility there depending on what someone needs.

Location-wise, you get the benefit of being close to woodland and open countryside, but without feeling remote. You can still get to surrounding towns and commuter routes easily, which is quite hard to find with homes of this style.

Overall, it’s a house with a lot of personality and space, but in a way that still feels practical and comfortable to live in day to day.

Area View – Bramshill Road, Eversley

Eversley has always been popular with buyers looking for a bit more space and greenery around them, without feeling too cut off from everything else. It’s one of those villages where you get a more countryside feel day to day, but still have practical access into nearby towns and commuter routes.

The area is well known for its woodland, common land and walking routes, with plenty nearby if you enjoy being outdoors. Places like Horseshoe Lake and the surrounding forest walks are used regularly by locals and are a big part of why people stay in the area long term.

Despite the rural feel, you’re still well connected. There’s straightforward access towards Fleet, Wokingham, Camberley and Reading, as well as the M3 and M4 for commuting further afield. Mainline stations at Fleet and Winchfield are also within easy reach for London services.

For families, there’s a good mix of well-regarded local schools nearby, along with village pubs, cafés and everyday amenities that give the area a strong community feel without being overly busy.

Overall, Eversley suits buyers looking for a quieter setting with character homes, larger plots and access to open space, while still keeping everyday convenience within reach.
