Description
Approached by a path off the drive, the front door opens to the entrance hallway which has doors to the snug, the cloakroom, the dining room, and the kitchen/breakfast room. The kitchen/breakfast room accesses the utility room and has an external door opening to a covered walkway leading to a pedestrian door at the rear of the double garage. Double doors from the hall also open to the triple aspect sitting room which measures 29 ft. by over 13 ft. and has an open fireplace and views over the Vale of Aylesbury.
Parallel staircases rise from the hallway and the landing to the top of the house, accessing the bathroom and five double bedrooms over two floors, one with an en suite shower room. A window in the stairwell overlooks the front.
Kitchen/Breakfast Room
The kitchen overlooks a neighbouring orchard and is fitted with a range of wall and base units with contrasting Corian worksurfaces and upstands incorporating a Corian sink. Integrated appliances include a Belling range oven with a seven-ring gas hob and an extractor over, and a dishwasher. There is space for a fridge/freezer. The separate dual aspect utility room has fitted storage units, a worksurface with a butler’s sink, and space and plumbing for a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Bedrooms
The principal bedroom suite is dual aspect and has a dressing area lined with two sets of built-in, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes; a door leads to three piece en suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms on this floor, with built-in cupboards and sharing a family bathroom. The staircase continues to a second floor landing, off which lead two further bedrooms, both defined by the shape of the roof and with Velux windows. One room has Neville Johnson fitted cabinetry and is currently used as a study.
Outside
At the end of a cul-de-sac, Penwood has a lawn beside the drive with planted borders. The sitting room French door opens to a paved terrace which also runs along the side of the house. Stone steps from the terrace lead down to a sloping lawn with sleeper steps to a wooden arbour with a water feature. The garden wraps around the rear, overlooking an orchard, leading to a fruit cage, raised vegetable beds, a greenhouse, a shed, and compost bins on the opposite side.
