Seller Insights
“The house is incredibly spacious and works so well for family life and entertaining. We often have friends to stay and can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people. The different reception rooms give you so much flexibility too – we currently use the second reception room as a gym, but it would work equally well as a home office or downstairs bedroom.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom suite is spacious. Even with a super king-size bed, there’s still an impressive amount of space. The walk-in wardrobe and dressing room have also been a huge bonus.
One of the things we love most about the house is how individual it feels. The original builder lived here previously, so there’s been a huge amount of thought put into the design, with lots of bespoke touches and high-spec fixtures and fittings throughout.
The gardens and lake are absolutely stunning, and we feel incredibly lucky to wake up to views like these every day. The house has been designed to make the most of the setting, especially from the open-plan living area overlooking the lake – it’s one of our favourite places to sit and relax.
Lake House is the perfect home for anyone who loves nature. The setting is so peaceful and tranquil, and with the gardens and lake, it almost feels like a private wildlife retreat. We’ve seen deer, gold finches, peregrine falcons, a resident kingfisher and many other birds throughout the year.
The grounds are fairly easy to maintain – it’s mainly just keeping on top of the lawn mowing. Beyond that, you can be as hands-on or relaxed with the gardening as you like. There’s also a summer house, which is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while watching the wildlife around the lake.
The community here is fantastic, and we’ve made some wonderful friends locally. Everyone looks out for one another, although it’s already a very safe and welcoming area. The village has its own pub, which hosts regular coffee mornings and ‘big breakfasts’, as well as a golf club with a bar and restaurant. There are some beautiful riverside walks nearby – especially if you have dogs.
We’ve absolutely loved living here and will be very sad to leave. The only reason we’re moving is to be closer to our new granddaughter. If we could take the house with us, we would – it really has been our dream home.”
