Description
*** Vendors comments *** " Twenty-six years. That's how long I have called Merrow Court home. When I first moved in, I never imagined I'd stay for more than two and a half decades, but that's what happens when a property stops being just a flat and becomes part of your family story.
From the very beginning, this home has been amazing. I've decorated it lovingly over the years, putting my own stamp on every room. The most recent works were done about five years ago, so the flat feels fresh, well-maintained, but it still holds all the character and warmth of a home that has been truly lived in.
This is where I raised my two children. I watched them take their first steps in the living room, helped with homework at the kitchen table, and waved them off to school from the very same front door year after year. This has been a wonderful family home, the kind of place where birthday parties felt magical and quiet evenings on the sofa made everything else worthwhile.
The location has been nothing short of perfect. When I needed to shop, my favourite destination has always been the Tandem Centre, it's not too far away and has everything you could want under one roof. From everyday groceries to a new outfit or a coffee with friends, it's been my go-to for years. There is also the fantastic retail park nearby, including Priory Retail Park, so you're spoilt for choice.
Transport is so easy to use, and honestly, that's an understatement. The tram stop is literally minutes away from Merrow Court, giving you direct links to Wimbledon (for the District Line and mainline Southwest trains) and Croydon (for East Croydon's fast services into London Bridge and Victoria). And if you prefer the bus, the route runs on the road just downstairs. You can be in Morden Underground Station (Northern Line) in no time at all, opening up central London for work or play. I've never once felt stranded here, quite the opposite. But the real hidden gem and the thing I'll treasure most is Morden Hall Park. Being so close to that beautiful National Trust park has been unbelievable. It has been my escape, my sanctuary, my daily dose of green. Whether it was summer picnics with the children, autumn walks through the falling leaves, or just a quiet moment by the River Wandle with a book, that park has given me so much. To have that on your doorstep, acres of meadows, ancient trees, the old snuff mill, the garden centre, the lovely little café, it feels like living in the countryside while being minutes from everything you need.
I miss Everything. The big park close by. All the shops on my doorstep. The ease of jumping on a tram and being in Wimbledon in under ten minutes. The community feel of Phipps Bridge Road. But most of all, I will miss my neighbours. We've looked out for each other through good times and bad. We've shared keys, taken in parcels, celebrated milestones, and supported each other through loss. That kind of neighbourly spirit is rare and it has made Merrow Court feel like more than just a block of flats, it's been a home in every sense of the word.
After 26 beautiful years, the time has come for a new chapter. But I'm not sad, because I know that somewhere out there, a new family is looking for exactly what I found here. A warm, well-cared-for home. A location that works. And a community that welcomes you with open arms.
Merrow Court has been my story. I hope it becomes yours too."
