ABOUT YOUR GROUP OF 3 PEOPLE RENTING 3 ROOMS:    You will be interested in being part of a large community garden very close to the house.  You are looking forward to having access to a community orchard for harvest and access to locally grown produce.  You are interested to use the community tea room and being a part of community meals.    When you have time, you may be interested to volunteer at the garden.  You have an interest in climate change issues and a tolerance for those who in the past may have protested.   You may be interested in being part of a repair cafe which we run.

ABOUT US 
The owners, a 60 year old couple, live in a separate annexe from main house with a separate fenced off garden and separate access.  We have our own kitchen, lounge and 2 bathrooms so we spend a lot of our time in this annexe.  The downstairs front room of the main house is a separate area used by us for quiet hobbies and leisure.  

BUS TRANSPORT: 2 minutes walk up the road is the no.2 bus stop which connects with Addenbrookes in one direction and the Mill Road and Sainsburys and town in the other.  5 minutes walk away is the no.3 bus stop which takes you directly to the railway station.

RAIL TRANSPORT: 15 minutes walk to the railway station or 5 minute cycle ride to Cambridge Station.  10 minutes cycle ride to South Cambridge station. 15 minute cycle ride to North Cambridge Station via the meadows and the river cam - a beautiful route for leisure or a good running route.   

LOCAL HOSPITAL: Addenbrookes is a 25 minute walk away/ 10 minute cycle, with direct bus transport 2 minutes walk away from the house.

GREEN PUBLIC SPACE: 
We are 2 minutes walk from the largest community gardens in Cambridge - a community allotment garden which as lodgers of this house you will get to share - you will have associate membership and the opportunity to have a key to the community tea room & access to the community orchard.  

There are 2 large parks 5 minutes walking distance from the house, Cherry Hinton Hall and Davy Road Park, both with outdoor gym, tennis courts, table tennis, and large green space.  The meadows and river cam and the tow path to Waterbeach is a great location for running & off road cycling.  

ACCESS TO SHOPS:  The Coop (115-117 Perne Road),  is 2 minutes walk away and is open 7am to 11pm and 7am to 10pm on weekends.  5 minutes cycle away are the largest variety of world good stores in Cambridge and the cheapest takeaway in Cambridge is 5 minutes cycle away.  The largest superstore supermarket in Cambridge, Sainsburys, is 5 minutes cycle/ 10 minutes walk away and Aldis, ASDA and Lidl are 10 minutes cycle away.  A larger coop (177 Perne Road) is 5 minutes walk away (7am-10pm & 10am-4pm Sunday).

LOCALLY GROWN FOOD: the community farm is 10 minutes walk away where you can volunteer and Waterland Community Supported Agriculture organic farm delivers to this house - we buy a community share in the harvest each growing season or you can visit the farm to collect your vegetables.  During the fruit season there is a community outlet 10 minutes walk away which brings all the fruit from nearby farms to the Cambridge community.
