Stanley Road is a quiet one-way street sat halfway between Buckley Town Centre and Mynydd Isa. You’ve also got a large convenience store at the local petrol station, just a few minutes' walk away, and let’s not forget a pub, so getting that pint of milk, glass of wine or a beer should never become a massive issue.
Pulling up outside number two, I will point out from the get-go, there is no off street parking. Now, parking is not an issue, there’s a code amongst neighbours, a bit like neighbourhood watch, and parking spaces are kind of nominated! Anyway, there are plenty of spaces to park on the road for family and friends when they come to visit.
A small front yard sits directly in front of the house, cordoned off by a wrought iron fence, you know, to mark out your boundary. It is possible to get a small table and chairs in there, so that you can sit and people watch the world pass by, all depending on what stage of life you’re at!
Walking through the uPVC front door, we step into an entrance porch, ideal for wet shoes and coats before entering the house. It’s kept nice and light here thanks to the glass panels in the front door. Another door, again with more glass panels, opens up into the lounge, so light in these rooms should always be at a maximum.
Stepping into the lounge, the first thing I noticed when I walked into the house was the quality wood effect flooring. This floor continues throughout the ground floor, adding a real touch of style. More light flows in here from the forward facing window, and a large wall can easily play host to any size of flat screen TV. Movie nights will never be the same again.
From the lounge, two doors open up to completely reveal the fabulous kitchen. It’s kept light in here, not only because of the white floor and wall mounted cupboards, but also thanks to the rear window that offers views over the garden. Ample storage units provide a home for all of your kitchen requirements, and work surfaces adorn two walls, offering a place to show off your culinary skills, as well as give a home to your 21st century gadgets that we’ve become so reliant upon today.
There is also a voids in the kitchen for the ‘must have’ washing machine. The staircase rises to the first floor, with a door underneath it, there to hide the things we need, but don’t necessarily want on show…..no that doesn’t’ mean the Grandparents!
Another door in here opens into an inner hall, creating space for your fridge / freezer and then a door leading to the rear garden. The final door opens to the downstairs bathroom.
Now, before you start panicking about a downstairs bathroom, or if I’m being totally honest, yes, yes, I know, an estate agent being honest….there is one you know…..it should actually be called shower room, as it’s got a lovely shower and not a bath, because who has time for a bath in these fast times that we live in….I can’t believe it’s June already….I digress….I hope you’re still following this.
Anyway, the beauty of having a downstairs shower room is, where do you spend most of your ‘awake time’ when at home?? That’s right, downstairs. And for those who only have a bathroom, or shower room upstairs, how annoying is it that you have to go upstairs every time you need the toilet…..so, problem solved!
Also, the beauty of a downstairs shower room is you get a much larger space, and this is no exception. Windows keep it nice and bright and show off the assortment of quality fittings in here. There’s a vanity sink unit, a trendy toilet and then a large walk-in shower with a big rainforest shower head. Tiled walls and floor make for easy maintenance as well as showcasing the suite.
Heading outside, we come to the pretty generous rear garden. Set up with different sections, from patio to decking and then a fine shingle area, means it won’t take up your time on the weekend for mowing, this couldn’t be any easier to maintain. It offers plenty of places to sit and unwind, soak up the sun, BBQ and basically, enjoy, alone or with friends. A wooden shed sits at the far end to store all your garden furniture, with a Pergola sitting next to it as a decorative feature, or a useful accompaniment.
OK, back inside and to the first floor and we come to the landing. A wooden spindled bannister prevents us from having an accident, with doors opening to all of the bedrooms.
The main bedroom can comfortably take a large double bed with room for an accompaniment of freestanding furniture. A window offers front facing views and allows plenty of light in and offers a vantage point for star gazing into the night sky.
The second bedroom, although not as large as the main, which is how it typically goes in a home, it’s still capable of taking a double bed, but your choice of other furniture is more limited. And a window in here looks out over the rear garden.
Finally, we come to the third bedroom. Very much like the bathroom, I’m sorry, shower room downstairs, it’s a good size. Currently, it’s being used as a dressing room, it can easily take a bed and an assortment of free-standing furniture. There are two windows in here, so if you are lucky enough to work from home, or require a hobby room, this space can provide all you require of it.
