Location
Farmborough is a village and civil parish, 6 miles (9.7 km) south west of Bath in Somerset and it straddles both the A39 and A368 roads. The parish has a population of 1,312. The village is well placed for access to both Bath and Bristol but there is plenty of activity within the community itself. The village has an excellent pre-school and primary school, renowned for its caring nature as well as high expectations. Church of England VC Primary School was built in 1857 and in a 2024 Ofsted it was graded as 'good' with 'outstanding' for personal development. In 2007 the local community pre-school playgroup moved into an unused classroom at the school site and a breakfast club was established to assist working parents to leave their children in a safe environment prior to school opening hours.
Location
The 15th century Church of All Saints is centrally placed within the village, behind the property, which also boasts a community shop and cafe, memorial hall, hairdresser and pub. There are activities for all age groups taking place in the church and in the village hall throughout the week. The pavilion and recreation ground are at the western end of the village where there is a multi-use use games area, cricket and football pitches. Transport is provided from Farmborough for secondary aged children, the majority of whom attend the highly rated Norton Hill School.
