Description

Traditionally built with rendered elevations under a slate roof this home, complete with Architects Certificate, gives very little away when coming down the sweeping curved paviour drive, but what is apparent are the views that await. The drive culminates in front of the double garage with is electric up and over door.

A modern European style front door begins the journey that awaits and coming into the open plan living area one cannot fail to be impressed with the southerly facing view that emerges. On the gable end there is a floor to ceiling window that allows the eyes to just soak it all in. As part of the design our clients quite rightly have made this the entertaining area and I am sure it could tell some stories! Opposite is the well designed kitchen, laid out for someone who clearly enjoys food prep and cooking, as everything is easy to hand. It offers ample wall, floor and drawer units with contrasting quartz work surfaces. At one end of the 14’ island unit that incorporates the sink, a 5 rig gas hob incorporating a Wok burner, a built in dish wash washer and a wine cooler fridge is a very useful bistro bar overhang allowing for a social time whilst the cooking is under way. There are two ovens, one with a plate warming drawer under, bottle racks, pull out larder cupboards, pan drawers and such. A recess allows for an American stye fridge freezer. The utility room is found next door which has sink, work top and space for both a washing machine and tumble dryer. A connecting door leads to the double garage, which is where the gas fired boiler, the pressurised water tank and the PV battery storage are found.
The main living area again enjoys the views and the way it is currently furnished allows for a sitting area in the middle ideal, for a coffee and natter or to just read a book and enjoy the views from inside. Around the corner where the natural light lessens is ideal for a big screen TV or the creation of an entertainment wall. On this side of the house is also found the study/office. Rounding off the accommodation on this floor is a contemporary styled cloakroom. Doors open on to the illuminated and partly covered 28’ decked terrace which is a wonderful place to al fresco entertain, let the hours slip by listening to the sounds of nature, soak up the sun or just watch the sun set of an evening. Glazed panels on both the south and western side make sure the outlook is not interrupted.

Polished concrete stairs with satin chrome handrails and glass panels lead to an internal hall off which all the bedroom accommodation leads. The master suite takes up one complete end having a luxury en suite shower room with rectangular twin wash hand basins with monobloc pillared taps sat upon a slate plinth and LED lit recess above, bidet, WC with concealed cistern and a large twin head, walk in shower and for those who like warm towels a heated towel rail awaits. Between the double aspect bedroom with its wide sliding door onto the lower terrace is a walk in clothes closet fitted with Led lighting above, shelves, drawers and rails. All the double bedrooms on the south side have sliding doors onto the illuminated terrace and the fourth double has casement doors on the western side out to the side garden and a path that links to the terrace. The second suite, again double aspect, is found at this end and benefits from a luxury en suite shower room fitted out in a contemporary style. The family bathroom introduces a different design element being Marble inspired with square ended double bath with central filler, handheld shower, large walk in shower with twin heads WC and white quartz rectangular wash hand basin with marble inspired veining and monobloc tap.

The attention to detail throughout must be seen to be appreciated even down to the Amtico flooring on both floors, the quality floor tiles used on the wet area and use of Black oak style doors with satin door furniture throughout.

Gardens
This home is all about the lifestyle to be had stepping into nature from contemporary living and vice versa. The gardens are found on all sides with the front garden being retained by a whitewashed wall topped with stone caps whilst at the back of the beds is a wonderful stone retaining wall from the property above. Sleeper steps lead from the edge of the drive to a small area of lawn beside the house that has been designed with ease in mind having box and lavender borders, views and during the sunnier months will enjoy the reflection of the heat from the west face of the house and the southern facing retaining wall behind, which has a white clematis growing along it. The steps continue down leading to an expanse of sloping lawn with small pond bordered by beds of grasses, Spirea and such, whilst a wildflower area has been allowed to cultivate for the many species of bird that visit. Fine oak and chestnut tress give mature structure to the garden. The lawn continues up the eastern side of the house linking with the lower terrace and steps that lead to the back of the garage. A useful garden store has been incorporated under the lower terrace.

Agents note
At the top of the drive the neighbour above can off load but not park.
On foot from the town centre walk through Rack Park into Warren Lane bearing right once out, and the paviour driveway will be found on the left hand side after a short distance just before the Commons begins.
