New Cumnock is a town in East Ayrshire which has seen considerable redevelopment by Dumfries House Trust in recent years including the full renovation of both the outdoor swimming pool and Town Hall which hosts a variety of local activities. The local primary has also undergone a full refurbishment and there are buses to Cumnock Academy outside. Other local amenities include a modern GP surgery, variety of shops including two co-ops, Keystore, bakery and Premier store. There are supermarkets locally including Asda in Cumnock and Tesco in Auchinleck. For commuters there are excellent road and rail links with the A76 linking to Dumfries and Kilmarnock. The centre of Glasgow is around one hours drive while both Ayr and Kilmarnock are within thirty minutes drive. The railway station is close by and provides regular services to Glasgow (one hour) and Carlisle (one hour twenty). Surrounding the town there is access to excellent walking, cycling and climbing. Slightly further afield there is the Dark Sky Park and Forest Parks with a variety of adventure sports.
