Thank you Candleriggs
The design is great. Very modern. I love the facilities especially the gym. It’s the biggest gym amongst all of the other accommodations. The management is friendly and helpful. You always have your questions answered and your concerns addressed. The staff are also kind, helpful and friendly. We always love greeting them and talking to them. What makes Candleriggs special compared to other accommodations is that they care about and encourage socializing amongst tenants. That is why they helped me to organize, host and promote my book club which I really appreciate.

The location is great. I love that there are nearby shops that give discounts when you show them the Candleriggs keychain.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Promptly and thoroughly. If a problem couldn’t be fixed immediately they always give temporary solutions until it is fixed
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I think the parking. I drive a car and wanted a parking inside the building but they were limited and all taken

Comfortable, convenient, classy Candleriggs
Candleriggs is nicely designed with good communal facilities and a gym. It is modern and well run by the management team. The management team works hard to create a sense of community through various activities and events, catering to a wide range of interests.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
It's convenient for shops, transport and entertainment. There is a bus stop outside. All stations are 5 to 10 mins walk. Many restaurants have a discount for Candlerigg residents. It's on a main road in the center so traffic noise is audible with windows open.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
We haven't raised any issues or problems with the management team.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The organization of quizzes and other activities and events.

Happy and at home here!
We chose this place for the above reasons (specific location, culture and community) and ease. We made a big move and change during a really busy time in our lives so I wanted the apartment set up to be really easy and I didn't want to have to go to Ikea once!! Everything is brand new and high quality. Design - I love it, super quirky, unique and homey while feeling luxurious. The apartment design I really like too - I didn't expect to as I didn't love some of the wall colours on the website brochure but ours is painted a warm greyish tone and the bedroom has one subtle greenish wall and so it pretty much goes with the soft furnishings we own. We picked our specific apartment because of the view. From what was available at the time we had a choice between size and view. I would have taken one of the larger apartments with views had it not been so modular - so if you go bigger you are only adding an extra separate room.. the living room or kitchen area doesn't feel much bigger in bigger flats so we decided to stay with a one bedroom with views over the city which make me happy every day! Also if we have guests we worked out it is more economical to host them in the Social Hub hotel next door. (which is such a great place fyi, it feels like an extension of the building even though it is totally different)..Facilities - all good there.. we work from home so do have a day in the common areas / desks which has fast wifi, not very busy during the day. We use the gym every day which is super new and well maintained. I think it would be good to have a rule of using a towel and cleaning down machines after use for hygiene. Building management and facility management : there is large team and they are always active. There is a cleaning team active all day which I appreciate. I think high use / high traffic areas need a bit of a touch up more often but all in all, I am impressed. The community team and concierge team are also very visible, communicative, active and set a nice friendly vibe. I think they are good at navigating managing a shared busy space with many young people who are still learning how to adult (putting this properly in bins, cleaning up after themselves ;) with professional 30+ people with high standards and more experience living in a shared space. All in all : 5 stars.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
As a Glaswegian, I love being back in Glasgow after decades away - I would never have thought I would live in this part of the city but it has completely changed and is really diverse, vibrant, safe, full of amazing independent shops, hipstery cafes, brilliant restaurants, old pubs, new bars, live music all the time. Having Trongate 130 right in front (culture and arts centre) was the deciding factor for us to move here. On top of that, the Barras market is 10 mins walk away, the Fish Market, all the high street shops and super markets. We don't have a car here yet so I can't comment on parking - though when friends come to visit they park about 12 minutes walk away for free (parking close by is really expensive as it is the city centre). We use public transport for now. The 2 main train stations are 10 mins walk, and you can get to the subway in even less. I can get from my apartment to the West End on the subway in just over 15 minutes which is super handy and to the south side for about £11 in a taxi. There are karaoke and football bars around our side of the building but you only hear noise on a weekend and it stops about 11pm so I don't find it annoying plus the flat is fairly soundproof - no street noise at all. Bin collections seem fairly frequent, not great for granular recycling but you can separate packing from general rubbish and there is a glass bin (all inside the building). I love the mix of people in this area of Glasgow - wee neds, international students, immigrants and Glaswegians all living day to day life side by side, all very friendly and open and that is my favourite thing here - the diversity and the kindness of the whole community.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes we had a jamming door and it was fixed in 48 hours. We have reported the extractor fan on the hob as not working - it is brand new - and waiting for that to be fixed, but we only reported it a couple of days ago.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
If you are not from here or don't know Glasgow well and don't know the best area to stay : I considered all the various buildings like this one across the city and for me, being a local, I can tell you that for location, price : location ratio, safety and ease, this is the best one.

The place to be in Glasgow.
The design is really nice. I love the facilities. The gym has everything I need. Whenever I need a change of scenery I go down and work at the common area downstairs. It’s nice having a shared work space. I also like to go up on the sun deck and have coffee whenever I need to be outside but also don’t feel like going out.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Excellent location. Everything is so close. If you’re not walking, transport is still easy as there are many bus stops and train stations within walking distance.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They are quick to answer and quick to schedule any needed maintenance.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Nothing noteworthy. Everything was clear and straightforward.

Candleriggs is a fantastic place to stay
The design of Candleriggs is lovely. It’s a welcoming environment in the reception and all the breakout spaces throughout the building. The flat is finished to an excellent standard and the design is nice and neutral. Candleriggs offers excellent facilities with the 24-hour reception, the post room, the gym, the breakout spaces and the regular cleaning. These all contribute to a thoroughly enjoyable living space. There are also three rooftop spaces to enjoy (especially when it’s warm!), which offer lovely views over the city. The management team and property teams are excellent and always on-hand to help. All residents are kept well-informed of upcoming activities and events.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The location of the building in the heart of the Merchant City is ideal. There are plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. Also, Candleriggs has established good relationships with local businesses to offer discounts to residents - a great perk! There are lots of buses and trains close by to get all over the city easily.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Any problems have been addressed quickly and any repairs promptly fixed by Jason. No complaints.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Nothing I can think of at this time. The Candleriggs team are all very welcoming and available to help if residents have any queries.
