Property Insight
A spacious four-bedroom semi-detached home arranged over three floors in the popular village of Burwell, offering around 1,240 sq ft of flexible accommodation. A converted loft has created a generous top-floor bedroom, while the ground floor centres on a stylish modern kitchen/dining room. The property further benefits from a lounge, a separate play room, a utility, a ground-floor cloakroom, a family bathroom, an enclosed rear garden, and driveway parking.
Set back behind a block-paved driveway providing off-road parking, the home is approached past a planted border and an enclosed entrance porch — a handy spot for coats and boots after the school run. Once inside, the hallway opens to the ground-floor living space, with stairs rising to the first floor.
The kitchen/dining room is the clear highlight of the home, beautifully finished with a range of handleless grey units, quartz-style worktops, and a large central island with breakfast bar seating. There is an induction hob with an overhead extractor, an integrated double oven, and space for further appliances, while a window above the sink looks out over the rear garden. Inset and under-unit lighting — including colour-changing LEDs — adds to the contemporary feel, and there is ample room for a dining table, making it a natural gathering spot for family life and entertaining alike.
The lounge is a comfortable, neutrally decorated room, with a feature wall housing a media recess and an inset electric fire, and plenty of space for a variety of lounge furniture. It flows well alongside the kitchen for day-to-day living. The separate play room is a genuinely useful second reception, working equally well as a children's room, snug, or home office, and a utility room and ground-floor cloakroom complete the downstairs.
To the first floor are three of the four bedrooms, including a double with a fitted wardrobe, served by a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, a wash basin, and a WC. A further staircase rises to the second floor, where the converted loft has created the largest bedroom of all — a bright, characterful room with a vaulted ceiling and a skylight that draws in plenty of natural light.
Outside, the rear garden is enclosed by fencing and laid mainly to lawn, with a paved seating area, established shrub borders, and a timber shed for storage. It is a sunny, private space with plenty of room for children to play and for relaxing or entertaining through the warmer months.

Location - Burwell
Burwell is a pretty parish village, situated 4 miles from the market town of Newmarket, 10 miles northeast of Cambridge, and lying on the southeast edge of the Fens, with good transport links along the A14 between the Cambridge and Suffolk counties.
Burwell is steeped in history, with two conservation areas, the earthwork remains of Burwell Castle, a scheduled monument, and nearly 60 listed buildings. The Grade-I listed parish church of St Mary the Virgin dates back earlier than the 15th Century and enjoys an active churchgoing membership with events throughout the year. There is also a Baptist church north of the village and a Trinity church near St. Mary’s.
An annual carnival happens in June to raise money for charity, and a parade travels from the south of the village to the recreation ground, where stalls and fairground rides are present. The village has two village halls, 3 public houses including the Fox which often has many Street Food vans in attendance, The Five Bells, and also The Anchor which has been recently purchased and now offers delicious Thai Food. The village also has allotments, a café, a takeaway fish and chip shop, a doctor's surgery, a nursery, a Montessori, a playground for preschool children, and a primary school. Children attend secondary schools in either Soham or Bottisham. There are many sports, arts and crafts, and activities for all the family, as well as lovely walks around the village within striking distance of Wicken Fen Nature Reserve.
If you’re looking to purchase in the area, we highly recommend the vibrant village of Burwell!
