We love the story of Sa Torre del Mar. The tower that gives the home its romantic name was built in the 15th or 16th centuries as a lookout point from which to raise the alarm when Moorish pirates were spotted out at sea. Built for the Archbishop of Palma, the home itself dates from the 17th century.

Sa Torre del Mar was restored by two of Mallorca's finest architects and the builder responsible for Deià's La Residencia in 1980. Today, it offers generous, classically Mallorcan living spaces and three bedrooms, two in the tower itself.

This wonderful home features a traditional Mallorcan interior courtyard surrounded by lush vegetation and a secluded terrace and outdoor area in which to live life alfresco.

Classically Mallorcan with its wooden beams and simple lines, Sa Torre del Mar offers an abundance of living space that flows naturally from room to room. Two of its three comfortable bathrooms are ensuite and two are in the tower. One of the great joys at Sa Torre del Mar is watching the sunsets from your bedroom.

The international artists' village of Deià is a five minutes' drive and 20 minutes' walk away along the coast. Llucalcari is around 20 minutes' drive from Sóller and its lively port. Charming Valldemossa is approximately the same distance in the other direction. Palma, the island's capital, is 40 minutes' drive for when you would like a taste of admittedly laidback city life.

Mallorca's airport, with its connections to all of Europe's major cities and regular flights to New York, is around 40 minutes' drive.
